Curtis and Joyce Wilson of Berthoud will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on Jan. 18, 2013.

Curtis Wilson met Joyce Kenagy in Loveland where she was a waitress and he was a construction worker.

They were married Jan. 18, 1953, in Berthoud and have called Berthoud home ever since.

Curtis is a retired federal meat inspector, working for 20-plus years at Monfort’s in Greeley and Longmont Packing. He enjoys woodworking and volunteering. He is a member of the Berthoud Lions Club, Veterans of Foreign War and American Legion.

Joyce is a retired homemaker and worked as a store clerk and school bus driver several years ago. She enjoys crossword puzzles and also volunteers in the community. Joyce is a member of the Berthoud Lions Club with Curtis.

The couple raised four children, Steve, Mike, Dennis and Cleta. They also have four grandchildren.

The couple attributes their long, happy marriage to love, respect and trust in each other as well as a sense of humor.

They plan to celebrate the milestone by having a nice dinner out on the town, and this summer they’ll have an open house party when their children and grandchildren will be able to attend.
