Simmons Foods Inc., based in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, is a family-owned, vertically integrated poultry, pet and ingredient products company founded in 1949. It employs 8,000 people and its divisions are: Simmons Prepared Foods, focusing on chicken products for the foodservice industry; Simmons Pet Food, focusing on private label wet and dry pet food and treats; and Simmons Feed Ingredients, producing specialized ingredients for pet food, aquaculture and animal feed industries. Simmons Foods produced 23.2 million pounds of ready-to-cook chicken on a weekly basis in 2023, an increase from 22.1 million pounds in 2022. In 2023, sales were $1.45 billion, an increase from $1.4 billion in 2022. Simmons sales break out is 42% commodity, 29% foodservice, 20% export and 9% retail. Its product mix is 56% frozen and 44% fresh. Its product forms at point of sale are 68% raw further processed and 32% cooked. The company brands are Simmons, Simmons Signature, Sager Creek and Ready Chef Go. According to its 2023 survey response, 38% of its flock is raised antibiotic-free or with no antibiotics ever.
