Description
Along Hollywood Road, sits Honeychurch Antiques, one of the first and most respected destinations for those interested in Asian Antiques. Sadly, this much-loved establishment will close its doors for the final time in June this year. Since its opening, in 1963 (long before the flood of other antique dealers to Hollywood Road) the owners of Honeychurch Antiques have not only provided stunning examples of the genre, but they have also shared their expertise and love of Asian antiques. We are very sad to say ”Goodbye” to the shop and it’s owners, John and Laurie Fairman.
During this event, John will talk about his life in Asia, the history of the family business, what it was like to establish an antiques business here and the changes he has seen on Hollywood Road over the years.
John and Laurie will host an “Antiques Roadshow” for our members. If you have an antique that you would like John to evaluate, please send us a good quality photograph of the item, a brief description, and any information you have on its provenance. John will then provide an evaluation (based on the photograph) and select items that he feels would be of general interest to evaluate and discuss at the event.
Join us to bid farewell to an era - an evening that chronicles the changes on Hollywood Road along with a discussion about the antiques from Hong Kong and Asia that memorialize the past.
