How Does Your Penis Change As You Age?

As an infant, your penis remains a primary urinal tool. But you still get erections now and then. This changes the size and strength of your male member.

But apart from this regular chore, does your penis change as you age? The answer is yes. And like any other organs, it's in constant adaptation.

When you attain ten years, your brain's sex gland initiates the release of a hormone. The activation signals production of testosterone.

The male sex hormone triggers a muscular build and deepening of the voice. But it's the penis that gets its most significant impact.

The phallus grows longer and thicker. Besides, the testis hangs more prominent.

And you start to produce semen to fill up the enlarged scrotum. More significantly, you also begin craving for sex and affection.

During the next ten or so years, the production of testosterone peaks.

With it, your body hair propagates as well as aggressive tendencies. You become more combative and wants to dominate.

It's at this stage that most men reach their sexual peaks.

But from twenty years to forty, your sexual function remains constant. The sex urge remains strong as the secretion of testosterone stays the same.

It's also at this phase that you are at your sexual maturity.

But after attaining forty years, there is no doubt about the sexual decline. And numerous physical and mental signs point to this fact.

Your bones begin to reduce in size, and your muscles start declining in mass.

As the blood supply to the penis reduces, the penis loses its domineering head. And while your muscles weaken, your penis also becomes shorter.

This is because fat tissues cover it. After this age, your penis also starts to exhibit scar tissues.

After a long period of aggressive sexual adventures, the vigorous thrusting results in tissue wounds.

These prevent adequate blood from reaching the sensitive nerve ending. It thus causes the penile sensitivity to wane. It also results in your penis losing its muscular ribs.

Besides, your aggressiveness diminishes, and you become calmer and resigned. But other non-visual impacts also occur at this time.

As your male sex hormone starts to dwindle, so does your sex desire. It takes much longer to get aroused. And when you indulge in coitus, it not as shuddering as before.

Besides, your semen quality and quantity also fizzle. As such, weak sexuality symptoms start rearing their heads. You begin to suffer from erectile dysfunctions and impotence.

These complications affect more than two-thirds of men aged above fifty years. These symptoms include arousal difficulties and problems with penetration.

Besides, you lack the resilience of maintaining a firm erection as well as a persistent sexual urge.

The changes to the penis as you age are not limited to sex only. Your urinary functions are also impacted. Studies show that the urine stream starts to weaken gradually.

The result is a failure in controlling your urine. You may not hold urine for long and could suffer unintentional leaks. Besides, some urine remains in the bladder even after you empty it.

Your bladder muscle also weakens. Therefore, you fail to regulate your bladder. This situation is either accompanied by an enlarged prostate or is a result of the same.

Why Does Penis Size Vary?

Many factors affect penis sizes. These factors include genes, nutrition, weather, and body size. And each works differently to vary the size of the penis.

Genes are essential. After all, you are a genetic product. And so, the genes you inherit from your parents determine your penis size.

Though you get your male member from your father, your mother's genes also play a significant role in determining its size.

Interestingly, your body may also alter these inherited genes to change the penis size.

Apart from genes, the weather also plays a role in influencing your penis size.

When it's cold, your penis shrinks to stay warm. But in the hot season, it hangs out more prominently to cool itself.

Nutrition also contributes to your penis size. Certain foods make you appear large. This is due to the ingredient they provide to the reproductive organs.

When you leave your pubic hair to grow, it covers the upper part of the penis, making it appear short. This fact is also prominent when you gain weight.

The fat forms a thick skin over your penis, thus making it appear shrunk.

Is Penis Size Genetic?

Penis sizes vary for many reasons, most of which are genetic. You are a product of two individuals, and so you pick some genes from each of your parents. The same adaption happens to your penis.

Though you own your penis to your dad's chromosomes, your mother has an input on the shape and size.

As a fetus, you are neither a boy nor a girl. This means that you are without gender.

But after twelve weeks in the womb, your reproductive system starts to develop. You may pick chromosomes from your father, who has XY, and your mother with XX chromosomes.

This selection is randomized. It means that you may pick a Y gene from your father and an X one from your mother.

This arrangement then makes you a boy. But you may also choose X from your dad and another X from your mum, resulting in you becoming a cute girl.

Even though the Y chromosome creates your penis, it's not the end of the story. X chromosome from your mother can support the critical characteristics of your penis.

Also, these inhered genes can mutate to form entirely different sets of genes. These will feature altered penis shape and size. As such, you can don a slightly different penis from your father.

He may be long, and you could have a thick member. Just like your body heights and built could differ even though your faces could be strikingly similar.

But your penis size isn't entirely a product of the genes.

Hormones could also influence its shape. Hormones could be internal and external. Internal ones refer to the hormones that your body secrets.

It also includes those that you borrow from your mum while in the womb.

External ones are those that you find in the environment around you as you grow. These include the effects of plastics and chemicals you come across as you grow.

When Is Penis Size Too Small?

Men are more concerned about penis lengths than women. One study found that more than 45% of men desire larger penises.

But more than three-quarters of the women polled weren't greatly concerned about the penis length.

In fact, more women put greater emphasis on a penis girth as a measure of sexual satisfaction than the length.

Why? Because the highest concentration of the sensitive vaginal nerve endings are just two inches below the opening.

A thicker penis, thus, stimulates this region better than a longer one.

But when is the penis size too small? Well, the average penis is just about five inches.

However, the feminine desire for an ideal penis started to decline for an erect penis that is below three and a half inches long.

Similarly, this small penis, also known as a micro-penis, has a small girth. This is a genetic disorder caused by inadequate hormonal supply during fetal development.

What Is 'Normal' Or Average Penis Size?

Most men are fixated on the size of their penis. And many men are known to fret about the size of their male members.

This mindset prevents men from acknowledging the average penis size.

Many still don't know what a typical penis measures. According to a 2014 study comprising over 15,000 men, the average length of a flaccid penis is 3.61 inches long and 3.67 inches thick.

The same report by the British Journal of Urology states that the average length of an erect penis is 5.17 inches. Its circumference measures 4.59.

Remember that the dimensions provided are averages. This measure that a proportionately high ratio of men fit within the ranges provided.

However, even individual penis size may change in length and width depending on other factors. These could include weather and weight.

Besides, penises are categorized as showers and growers.

This classification indicates that some penises elongate more when erect from the flaccid state. Others simply raise marginally.

Average Size By Country

Even though there is average penis size, dimensions vary in different groups of men. What's more, many countries also have different averages.

How do countries size up in this aspect? We can provide averages for the top ten countries with the longest penises.

And then compare these with the top ten counties with the shortest penises.

The continent that has a high number of countries with sizeable erect penis is Africa. They take up half of this slot.

They are followed closely in four countries in the Caribbean/Central America., while one is from Europe.

Interestingly, the long list of the countries with the shortest dong come from Asia. But Asia is large, and still, they are all from South East Asia.

Ecuadorian men have the most extended average penis size at 6.93 inches. Zambians close these top ten countries with an average of 6.21 inches.

Cambodia and Vietnam tie at the bottom of men with an average erect penis length at 3.95 inches on the shortlist countries.

The country with the longest average erect penis in the last ten is Malaysia, with 4.52 inches.

Men from the rest of the world are in between these extreme averages.

Penis Size By Age

As a father, you may be eager to monitor your son's male member's growth. You want him to be bigger than you.

But unknown to you, his mother could also be secretly concerned about this situation.

And so you both want to know that the boy is sizing up to his peers. But what is the average stretched penis of boys at different stages of development?

Well, the Adolescent and Young Adult Health Care: A Practical Guide book provides a more scientific benchmark to use.

It gives the shortest and longest average measure every year. To avoid measurement errors, you need to consult a pediatrician.

It's wise to start this exercise when the boy attains ten years.

Body changes occur from this age and continue up to twenty years. It may end earlier for some boys, while for others, it may conclude later than this time.

At 11 years, he should measure from 1.6 to 3.1 inches. A year later, this size should be between 0.4 inches and 0.9 inches to reach a max of 4 inches.

When the boy is thirteen, he should measure at least 2 inches and most 4.7 inches, while at 14, he can gain another 0.7 inches.

At 15, his penis ought to measure 5.9, while at 17, it elongates another 0.4 inches to stop at 6.7 inches when he celebrates his 18th birthday.

But if the growth is slower, it should be 3.1 inches at 15 years, 3.9 inches at 16, and 4.3 at eighteen.

Penis Size And Race

A lot of myths keep circulating about how race induces penis size. But is this story true? It isn't easy to ascertain the facts.

First, since most men taking part in this exercise undertake a self-assessment. As such, they are obliged to overrate their size.

Next, only a cluster of well-endowed men tends to take part in this assessment. So they do not provide the right population to offer an accurate conclusion.

But several studies have supported this theory. In these scientific data collections, penis measurements are accurate since trained researchers undertake them.

In a study published by the International Journal of Impotence Research in Brazil, 627 men took part. Black males had an average of 6.50 inches while white men were 6.22 inches.

Yet, in another self-assessment study, men with the longest penis come from Africa (with an average length of 6.33 inches.)

Those from Asia donned the short end of the stick (averaging 4.31.) While those from Europe stood in the middle of the range at 5.71 inches.

But the variation on the penis size and race is not consistent. Even though most Africa countries rank highly in endowment, it doesn’t mean that other races are behind.

Germany, for example, with a significant white males, have a higher national penis average than many Africa countries.

Similarly, Middle Eastern and East Asian countries like Saudi Arabia, India and Iran and Pakistan also have lager average penis and are from Asia.

Correlation Of Penile Size To Height And Foot Length

This is an age-old question that has refused to go away. There persists a strong belief about a positive relationship between the penis size and a man's height and foot length.

Not wanting to leave the stone untouched, scientists conducted several assessments to evaluate this correlation. Unfortunately, the results were too weak to confirm this assumption.

A 1999 Korean study of 655 men found a small connection between the penis size and the third toes. It didn't' confirm any linkage with the foot size.

Yet another study found a connection between height and weight to penis size. A 2001 Italian study established this link.

In 2010, another team did a review on Turkish men. It found a weak correspondence between penis length and height, weight, and BMI.

Previous studies, though, found no statistical correlation between the three factors. So in 2015, yet another task to review all the earlier research pieces in this area happened.

It concluded that there an inconsistent or fragile connection to tie penis length to a height of a man or his foot length.

What Is A Micropenis?

Micropenis is a genetic disorder. Typically, it happens at birth.

This phenomenon implies a penis that is small in appearance and structure than one would normally expect in an infant.

A micropenis may look like a typical penis, but this size may handicap its functions.

This problem starts in the womb. Due to the mother's tummy's harmful environment, the fetus may get insufficient supplies of essential hormones and enzymes.

In this case, androgen is incredibly vital. Inadequate quantities may prevent the proper development of the boy's reproductive system.

This could be due to the mother's high-stress level or an unhealthy lifestyle.

But even after birth, the boy may experience improper pituitary function. This results in the low secretion of the necessary hormone.

In some cases, however, micropenis may just occur without hormonal influence. A study in 2011 points to exposure to environmental pesticides and detergents as the culprits.

Chemical ingestion by a pregnant mother or an infant could be the cause. They accelerate the incidences of a small penis that measures less than 3.3 inches – considered a micropenis.

Factors Influencing Penis Size

Many factors influence penis size. They range from hereditary factors to lifestyle and health. It's a fact that penis sizes differ in different men.

But it's also true that you can experience penis size fluctuations at varying stages of your life. Your penis size experience seasonal fluctuation.

These changes occur due to temperature variations and sexual desire.

Besides, your diet could also influence the penis size. Foods rich in aphrodisiac properties could trigger a sustained strengthening of penile tissues, resulting in a robust member.

Again your sexual activity is also instrumental in this size. A man who usually engages in sex is likely to grow a firmer rod.

Sex, just like cardio exercises, leads to increased blood flow to your genitals. As such, it expands slightly.

On the other hand, a poor lifestyle could have the opposite effects. Drug misuse, binge drinking, and excessive smoking can all deny your penis of essential nutrients.

Thus it withers and thins, affecting its size. But diseases could also damage your penis size.

Ailments such as diabetes, cardiovascular complications, and high blood pressure are particularly lethal to your penis health. They affect the size of your penis.

Other issues such as obesity and poor grooming can also envelop a large part of the penis. Thus you only have part of it to show as the visible size.

How To Measure A Penis?

Measuring the penis may look simple. But in reality, most men would doctor the measurements to elicit a large size. Thus they undertake this exercise in the wrong way.

There are several methods to measure the penis. But only a few provide the accurate size in terms of a penis' length and girth.

Perhaps the reason behind the inaccurate measure is the state of the penis. You can only get the correct dimensions when it's erect.

In this state, you can get accurate length and circumference. Take a flexible tape and push it to hit the public bone at the base of the penis.

Then mark at the tip of the penis. This is the correct length of your penis.

For your girth, roll the tape around your erect penis. Only place it either at the base or at the mid-section of the erect penis.

Placing the tape around the gland region provides false readings. Ensure the tape is touching the other side tightly.

Take the reading of the tape at this point where it wraps around the penis.

In case you are using a string for such measurements, you need to have a thin marker.

This provides accurate points. Just transfer these points to the tape measure to get the correct dimensions.

What Is Considered A Big Or Small Penis?

When you are thinking of a big or small penis, then you must have a yardstick. What is either too much or too little, beyond the average?

A 2012 study on fifteen thousand men established that the average length of the erect penis is 5.16 inches. For the girth, it outlines a circumference of 4.59 inches.

This means that more than 95% of penises fall within an inch of these ranges. But of course, some men are outlanders.

These men either possess a larger-than-average or smaller-than-average dimensions. Men with tiny penises have a disorder called micropenis.

Here their penis is less than 3.35 inches when erect. Even though they can work with this size, the length causes substantial mental stress.

It's this inadequacy that ends up messing up their sex lives. These cases are sporadic, though, just like those with large penises. It's estimated that it occurs in one out of 30,000 people.

In reality, only 5% of men have penises measuring less than 3.9 inches. Likewise, only 5% of men have penises larger than 6.5 inches.

For the well-endowed brethren, this size presents another problem. Penetration may cause some pain. This shouldn't be the case.

After all, sex is meant to be enjoyable. And the most sensitive area is just three inches of the vaginal canal. Women are likely to avoid any encounter that causes pain.

Does Size Matter?

Various penis sizes matter for different reasons.

Women are the recipient of the penis. Hence they are more inclined to choose the size that appeals to them most. But does penis size really matter?

A study mentions that women fascinate over large penises. In the real sense, though, this is just a mental craving.

Maybe biology has a role in this mental sizing. Women equate a large penis with a healthy heart. This gives them a sense of false assurances about the men's ability to provide food and security.

And maybe this mental stigma has been passed from their great grandmother as a selection criterion.

But a large penis isn't that appealing after all. In fact, women are actually fascinated about a thick penis than a long one.

A BMC publication concludes that women give greater emphasis to penis girth as a measure of sexual satisfaction.

Besides, sex isn't centered on penetration only. Other factors make it great beyond penis size.

A long penis can only stimulate the cervix. In comparison, a thick penis stirs up the vaginal walling. Yet, these two areas rank well below the most sensitive part of any woman's anatomy.

The clitoris is perhaps the most arousing organ.

Yet it's outside the vagina. This means that any man can excite a woman's wildest passion without attempting to penetrate.

Penis Size: Do Partners Care?

Apart from sex, a large proportion of women crave companionship and intimacy. This means that most women usually look beyond the penis size for rewarding relationships.

Women consider other factors while scouting for a spouse. The first is chemistry. Do they synch and communicate well? This perhaps the single most vital factor partners seek in a relationship.

Then there is the physical appeal. Is the woman's prospective partner cheerful and friendly? Yet dependability is also vital for the relationship.

As the female intends to share the rest of her life with the man, she would look for a man she can trust and rely upon.

Other factors are security and hierarchy. Like all primal mammals, these are essential considerations beyond the penis size.

After ticking the above, women then look for sexual appeal. These are the details about their sexual compatibility.

Here, if she is narrow, she wouldn't prefer a well-endowed man. She could also consider the height and shoulder-to-waist of the man and other minute issues.

Beyond the penis size, there are many ways that a man can pleasure a woman without using his penis.

What women seek are arousal and orgasm. Hence they don't care a lot about the penis size.

What Size Penis Do Women Want?

The direct answer to this question is a bit confusing. Two separate studies provide conflicting results.

A study published in the journal PLOS One assessed 75 women to determine what penis size they considered attractive.

The researchers used 33 penis models and asked the interviewees to select their preferred penis size.

For one-night stands, most women opted for penis size 6.4-inch long and five inches thick.

While for long-term relationships, they choose slightly smaller penises. They settled for penises of 6.3 inches long and 4.8 inches thick.

Gauging from another study of the average penis length, the sizes these women chose are slightly more significant than the average penis sizes.

This assessment detailed average penis length as 5.16 inches long and 4.59 inches thick.

But does this mean that women crave more immense phalluses? Not so. Another study establishes that most women opt for thicker penises instead of longer ones.

These variations prove that women want different sizes to satisfy them at different points and situations.

What About Gay Males?

Gays are sometimes hard to define, especially if you are straight sex-wise. Even in the gay community, there are numerous subsets, so we don't know precisely what gay entails.

Yet, we all agree that gays prefer having sex with the same gender. This preference, though, includes some physical and mental orientation towards sex.

But the real deal is what sex means to gay men. Some gay men like it from the top. Which means that they stay down, on the receiving end.

While other men play the dominant role, they prefer inserting it into the other guys.

Yet there is another subset that doesn't mind whichever way. They can give and receive in equal measure. And they enjoy the game whether they are on top or bottom.

All gay sex involves pinning it on the anus. But how do their penis size measure as regards the position they prefer?

Men with below-average penis tend to prefer being on the receiving end. In contrast, those who don above-average penis prefer to be the sex givers.

But the earlier men also care about the size they receive, being that the anus stretches less than the vagina.

Those with average size penis could flip flop at will – either being recipients or givers.

Ideal Penis Size

Ideal penis size relates to many things. But it boils down to sexual comfort, pleasure, and perception.

A study done in 2006 sought to understand ideal penis size from a women's perspective.

In it, fifty-two thousand women were asked to rank their satisfaction with their partners' penis size.

More than four-fifths were satisfied by their men's size. About a sixth craved for a larger penis, while 2% showed preferred smaller penises.

And since most men are averagely-endowed, a high proportion of females don't mind much about the size.

For those who wished their male partners has slightly larger penises, it's more about perception. Maybe the men lacked confidence in their members.

Men also may note that the vagina is highly versatile. The muscles change depending on the menstrual cycle and the level of arousal.

Vaginas also remain taut with exercises. So it can stretch to accommodate any size. This adaptation makes women contended with most penis size.

A man with a large penis only needs to arouse his partner more so that the vaginal muscles relax further.

Similarly, a man with a small pen can also stimulate the clitoris and vaginal walls instead of plunging deep down.

Most women derive great pleasure through vaginal wall stimulation. Hence they prefer men with wider girth than long penises.

Hence, an ideal penis should only bring pleasure and sexual comfort. Not sexual anxiety and pain.

Does Penis Size Affect Confidence?

Most men equate masculinity with penis size. And this concern begins from puberty onwards. High school boys would show off their penises in the locker room.

The ones with average penises would lose the confidence to talk about their hangs.

And this leads to other problems. First, other boys start discussing those with average penises in a bad light. Worst still, they could experience mocking and bullying because of this fact.

As they grow, their self-confidence wanes. The boys fear changing clothes in front of their colleagues since they don't want to appear small.

Next, the averagely-endowed boys grow up with low self-esteem. But the situation worsen when they begin to date.

On dates, they would feel guilty about their penis. This embarrassment would make them refuse to undress in front of their girlfriends.

And as the shame overwhelm them, the men would lose the mental determination to shore up their acts between the sheets.

Lastly, the lack of confidence contributes to the poor show. And when these dissatisfied partners complain, it only makes matters worse for these men.

Why Are Men Concerned About The Average Penis Size?

Penis size is an emotional topic for most men. All of them wish they had a slightly longer penis, even those that are well-endowed.

Why then are men concerned about their penis size? And why is this regret even with those men who have average penis size?

It's more of a mental issue than a real problem. The position of the penis is to blame. Most men view their penis at an acute angle. This means that they see it as short.

But some men have been teased about their penis size as teenagers. At the same time, others have experienced lewd remarks about their lengths from their partners.

To confirm this situation, King's College of London undertook a study to identify why men are sensitive about their penis size.

In the 2008 assessment published in the Journal of Health Psychology, 173 men confirmed this fear.

The body image questionnaire established that most men fear that others would notice the size and shape of their penis even when they are dressed.

This consciousness created shame and guilt. And this is why these men are keen on their penis size.

This fear remains even though many women confirm via a 2012 study that penis size doesn't concern them much.

Only a small percentage of women who cherish cervical stimulation showed interest in well-endowed men.

When To Seek Penis Enlargement?

Most men have thought of doing something to augment their perceived small penis. And some have gone ahead to initiate some form of enlargement therapies.

Most men seeking to elongate their penises have a standard size. Which begs the question - when should you seek penis enlargement?

Men are obsessed with penis size. Some even suffer from penis insecurity; a condition called a penile dysmorphic disorder.

These men believe they have a small penis no matter what. And so they seek remedial measures, even though there is nothing wrong with their penis.

Yet, some conditions warrant intervention. Due to genetic disorder at birth, some penises refuse to grow. This disorder results in micropenis.

Here the penis is less than 3 inches when erect. In other situations, a skewed penis can make sex painful and difficult. This condition arises due to the scarring of penile tissues.

Further, some surgical intervention such as thyroid operation of prostate surgery may deform the patient's penis. Penis enlargement is necessary in the above situations.

Can Men Change The Size Of Their Penis?

Many studies conclude that most women are not at all bothered by the size of their partners' penises. But men still seek to change the size of their penis.

This effort is purely to satisfy their mental urge. So they invest weeks or even months searching for the best ways to improve their penis size.

As long as the penis can pass on the genes to reproduce, there is nothing wrong with it. But some men still opt to change it. Luckily, you can change your penis size.

The only way to permanently do this is through surgery. The process involves cutting your ligaments and enlarging them.

Other procedures comprise filling the penile void with silicon to boost its size.

But is it worth the effort? Going under the knife is expensive, excruciating, and wroth with risks.

Sometimes, the wound heals poorly. In some instances, the penis may stop functioning.

Yet, a perfect surgery costs a fortune. And you still have to wait for weeks or even months before you regain your sexual function.

Other remedies involve penis extension and jelqing.

The extender also offers some respite using mechanical devices. Likewise, taking pills, creams and supplements are other approaches to alter penis size.

They work by drawing more blood to your penis. But they only offer a reprieve. Besides, some don't even work.

How To Make The Penis Look Bigger?

Despite these challenges, men can still get their penis to look and feel large. These mechanisms are simple and worth the effort. Yet, they don't cost you anything.

A mere task of trimming your pubic hair can change your penis appearance immediately. When you are bushy down there, much of your penis shaft hide under the hair.

And so you see only a small portion of the entire penis. But shaving the mass reveals the entire penis to the base.

You notice that it has instantly enlarged. Another way to revamp your penis size is by maintaining a healthy weight.

If you are obese, much of the fats packs beneath your skin.  And the pubic skin offers a perfect store for the excess mass.

Yet the store mops up most of your penis length. Your penis thus appears shorter than it really is.

When you lose weight, you instantly reveal the extra length previously covered by thick skin. Lean loin transforms your penis length dramatically.

But there is no other way to make your penis bigger than through exercises. All you need to dedicate some time to it.

And various exercises work on your pelvis to bring out not only a bigger penis but also a robust one.

Cardio exercises such as weightlifting and pushup are particularly useful in drawing blood to your penis.

They help to tone your skin and build muscle mass. Thus flexing transform your penis to be thick and big.
