  • In a Word– IN A WORD is a monthly publication for and about African American Catholics. IN A WORD is published by the Divine Word Missionaries, a worldwide missionary group of priests and brothers.
  • Institute for Black Catholic Studies - The Institute is designed to assist Black and cross cultural priests, religious, lay women and men, seminarians, novices, catechists, diocesan administrators, deacons, lay associates and volunteers from Black and all other cultural heritages who are engaged in ministry among Black Catholics and the broader Pan African Community in the United States.
  • Knights and Ladies of Peter Claver – The Knights of Peter Claver and the Ladies Auxiliary is the largest African American lay Catholic group in the United States. The Knights and Ladies are a family based organization with councils and councils throughout the United States.
  • National Black Catholic Congress - The National Black Catholic Congress, comprised of member organizations, represents African American Roman Catholics, working in collaboration with National Roman Catholic organizations.
  • National Black Sisters Conference – The National Black Sisters Conference is a national organization representing Black Catholic women religious in the United States.
  • Oblate Sisters of Providence - The Oblate Sisters of Providence is the first successful Roman Catholic sisterhood in the world established by women of African descent.
  • Shrine to Our Mother of Africa – Our Mother of African Shrine is located in the Crypt Church at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.
  • Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament- Inspired by the founding charism and vision of Saint Katharine Drexel and empowered by our solidarity with the poor and the voiceless throughout the world, the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament will work tirelessly - in partnership with others - to eradicate deeply rooted injustice, to build bridges among and between diverse peoples, and to foster an interconnectedness among all creation.
  • Sisters of the Holy Family- The Sisters of the Holy Family, an African American congregation of pontifical status, was founded by a free woman of African descent, Henriette Delille, in New Orleans, Louisiana.
  • St. Joseph’s Society of the Sacred Heart (SSJ) – The Josephite’s are an interracial community of priests and brothers who for the past 126 years have had the privilege of serving the spiritual, educational, and social needs of the African American community.
  • Society of the Divine Word (SVD) - The primary mission of the Chicago Province of the Society of the Divine Word is to call and train new missionaries to spread the Word of God worldwide.
  • Society of St. Edmund - An important part of the Society’s mission has been to embrace the culture and heritage of the African American community and to affirm a special emphasis on social justice and the preferential option for the poor.
  • Solid Ground Ministry - is a Franciscan Ministry of evangelization and outreach to African American families.

  • National Black Catholic Apostolate for Life - The National Black Catholic Apostolate for Life (NBCAL) is a ministry committed to pray, proclaim, and stand boldly for an end to abortion, all acts of violence and evil, and all injustice that destroys the sacredness of life.

  • Xavier University - America’s only historically Black, Catholic University founded by Saint Katharine Drexel.
