Would you like to spend your February Break week creating a film about the impacts that social media has on teens? Student participants will need to be able attend for all 5 days of February break for 6.5 hours a day, plus a few after school hours in the weeks before and after the break. Participants who complete this program will receive a stipend. This program will take place from Monday, February 17 through Friday, February 21, 2020.
This program is for 6-7 Amherst High School students who would like to work with the organization SPIFFY and a local filmmaker to explore teen perspectives on social media. During this program participants will learn basic filmmaking skills, will explore the impacts of social media on youth, and will together create a short professional video.
This is a great opportunity to do something fun, challenging, and meaningful during February break. It doesn't matter whether you use social media a lot or don't; you will have a chance to learn more about this topic, brainstorm with your peers, and express your perspectives in a high-quality video.
