The DREAM-Specialized High Schools Institute (DREAM-SHSI) is a 22-month intensive program that prepares 1,500 economically disadvantaged middle school students for the Specialized High Schools Admissions Test beginning in the Spring of their 6th grade. In an effort to help expose DREAM students to specialized high schools, p.s. alumni is excited to partner with DREAM-SHSI so that DREAM students can learn more about each of the eight specialized high schools from the people who know them best - specialized high school alumni.
Alumni will have many opportunities to support DREAM-SHSI students, including:
• Speaking to classes of DREAM-SHSI students about your experiences attending a specialized high school
• Mentoring a DREAM student throughout their specialized high school career
• Guiding a tour of your alma mater for prospective students and parents
• Representing your alma mater at high school fairs and other events for prospective students and parents
