Due to the growing needs in our specialist teaching facility for children who have ASD, it has been identified by an external occupational therapist, the need for appropriate sensory integration throughout the school day for our learners. This includes access to resources that are outside of our funding budget such as spinners and sensory skateboard, crash mats, medicine balls, scooter boards, exercise balls and stands and peanut balls.

Restore the Parc Llewelyn Boardwalk
Restore the Parc Llewelyn Boardwalk joined Cyllido Torfol Abertawe / Crowdfund Swansea1 day ago

The boardwalk is our lifeline to the heart of Parc Llewelyn. It allows everyone—regardless of age or ability—easier access and to experience our wetlands area. Our wetlands are visited by many species of birds, frogs, insects, and more. By restoring the boardwalk, we create a safe passage for them and protect their delicate habitats. Imagine a refurbished boardwalk—a sturdy path that winds over the water, and into the heart of Parc Llewlyn. Imagine families strolling hand in hand, schoolchildren learning about ecosystems, and photographers capturing memories. This vision is within reach, but we need your help.

There are two elements to the project; 1. Outdoor markets at the Commercial and Nomad Bar and Kitchen in Sterry Road Gowerton. The markets will take place between 10.00am and 2.00pm on the three summer Bank Holiday Sundays; Sunday May 5th, May 26th and August 25th. The markets will aim to bring the community together to provide a central area for the community to socialise and interact. At the market local musical & dramatic groups will perform giving an opportunity for local organisations to promote themselves in the community. There will also be activities provided that will be aimed at stimulating & providing creative and play opportunities for young people. The footfall from these events will support local businesses. Then between 1.00pm and 6.00pm there will be an Activity Day arranged to take place at the Athletic Ground on Victoria Road. The aim would be to have a 'family day' with activities available to allow people of all ages to engage in physical & creative activities.

Securing Land for Cae Tan CSA joined Cyllido Torfol Abertawe / Crowdfund Swansea1 week ago

Cae Tan is a not-for-profit Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) scheme based on Gower. We have now been running for ten years and have established ourselves as Wales largest and most innovative CSA. We are recognised both within the UK and Europe as a leading example of community based sustainable farming. We aim to raise awareness of sustainable farming and reconnect people with the land and their food. We grow and supply fresh, organically grown, seasonal produce to 130 local households. We offer weekly volunteering opportunities, seasonal residencies for trainees and run educational programmes sharing food growing skills with primary schools and families from deprived areas. Our main growing fields are currently leased on a short-term rental contract. Our project is to bring this land into community ownership so that it can be used for environmentally sustainable community growing for generations to come.
