With the push toward the November midterms in full swing, The Denver Post, KCDO-TV Channel 3 and Aaron Harber will partner together this election cycle to do a daily half-hour broadcast that will tackle the issues, personalities and advertising shaping the election.

“The Aaron Harber Show: Colorado Election 2014” will be broadcast during the day on denverpost.com and the show is set to broadcast on KCDO-TV Channel 3 at 6:30 p.m. beginning June 30 and running through November.

“We are excited about the opportunity to work with Aaron and provide our readers and viewers with additional information for evaluating candidates and issues this election cycle,” Post Editor Gregory L. Moore said. “We are impressed with Aaron’s ability to get political players to come to the table and discuss their views and we look forward to what we can create together.”

Colorado this election cycle is home to one of the most competitive U.S. Senate races in the country between incumbent Democratic Sen. Mark Udall and GOP Congressman Cory Gardner. And in the state’s Aurora-based 6th Congressional District, GOP Congressman Mike Coffman will fight to stave off a challenge from former Democratic House Speaker Andrew Romanoff, in what political analysts peg as a House race that’s a true toss-up.

Several ballot initiatives that would give local communities more control over oil and gas drilling are also likely to make the November ballot, setting up a fight that could bring millions of dollars in outside money to the state.

“It’s really humbling to be teamed up with The Post,” said Harber, who in the past has interviewed everyone from former President Bill Clinton to Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg and media mogul Ted Turner. “I see this as an extraordinary public service opportunity for the citizens of Colorado who will have a place to go that is nonpartisan and fact based, where debates are done in a civil matter.”

The broadcast will feature interviews with candidates, examinations of ballot issues, analysis of important political developments and rating of political ads for effectiveness, fairness and truth. A mix of politicians, political analysts and Post reporters and editors will make appearances on the broadcast.
