Bennet Family #2

Curves Ahead

Rate this book
Everyone knows appearances can be deceiving, and in my case, even I’ve been fooled.

The last thing I need is immature man-child, Alexander Bennet, trying to smile his way into my pants. I hate everything about him; his stupid smirk, his rumbling chuckle, and the way butterflies riot in my stomach when he aims them at me. Our sparring matches go from maddening to stimulating and suddenly my mind and body are at war.

Unfortunately for me, my life is nothing but lies. Twisted secrets keep throwing us together then pulling us apart as we try to unravel it.

Will the one person I want nothing to do with, be my salvation? Or are we doomed to tear each other apart?

From Dyslexic kid with a love of Algebra to a published author, no one is more surprised to find me here, than I am. I love to write about tortured pasts and hot sex, a happily ever after that has to be worked for. My stories tend to be a little dark but with some comic relief, typically in the form of sarcasm.

Let's start off by saying this is a brand new author for us.
We really enjoyed the main characters as we instantly loved Kristen and Alex also Ben and Alister but, we really loved Alex's entire family too !

We thought the story was fun and made you laugh and it was also emotional and haunting as Kristen has nightmares that haunts her but, she can not make heads of tails of them.

The chemistry between this couple were super hot sometimes even fan worthy.

I really enjoyed the story because it had such a great cast of interesting characters that made you laugh and if I could base a review on just that it would be 5 stars but, I had issues with this story as well because I had so many unanswered questions and somethings just didn't make sense I guess you can say.

Spoiler alert -Don't read the next part if planning to read....

I realize this story is fiction but , situations in certain stories need to be plausible at least in my mind anyway and I hate the not knowing. For me this story could have been really great for me if the author shed light on some of the mystery surrounding this story.

Issue one- Kristen and her nightmares are connected in some way to a cop named Preston even if she has not idea how but, every time she is around this man she has panic attacks and the nightmares are back and memories start surfacing and memories flooding her mind even if she can't make sense of them.
( this happens time and time again throughout the entire story) So when Kristen ends up at her horrible parents house for dinner and ends up in her bed the next day in her own bed at her parents house feeling like she been run over by a mack truck and no memory its clear as day she was misused ,abused and possibly raped she calls Alex and he comes with another cop to investigate the situation and they end up collecting and evidence kit but, Kristen refuses to go to the hospital to do a rape kit because it will embarrass her family.(Mind you these are the parents that treat her like shit and this happened in their home) .This whole situations points to a rape yet, this character only thinks she wasn't raped? yet, all the evidence and the condition her body is in sure as heck points in that direction. I just can't imagine not wanting to know for sure .Wouldn't you want to know for sure if you were violated ? The last person you were around was Preston and you don't put two and two together or at least he is a suspect in your now appearance and that he possibly drugged you but, through this whole entire process his name was never mentioned and you have no recall even talking to the man yet, accept the explanation the your parents gave to the maid for your current situation and not question it ? In the next breath you learn from Alex that you were indeed in a room with Preston because you sent pictures to him yet have no memory of doing it yet, here again you don't put two and two together the nightmare, the panic attacks, how the man makes your skin crawl or even as an afterthought think he had something to do with your current situation ? Clearly he is suspect at least ? Mind boggling... Next what happens is Alex leaves with his cop friend leaving Kristen in the same house were she was just abused .Hello ? What's up with that ? The guy who is protective of his entire neighborhood including kids and adults alike yet,he leaves is girlfriend who has no memory of what happened to her but, evidence clearly states she was abused and you just leave her? Not only that Kristen isn't hysterical about this whole situation and is not wanting to get the hell out of there she wants a bath and is going back to bed and she will be fine because the maid is there. I am sorry just none of any of this makes sense. Omg ! Seriously! Hours later she is missing....

I am not going to say what happens next but, your probably thinking the same thing I am and what direction the story is going in.Let's just say its disturbing and sick and leads to yet another victim.

Towards the end of the story things start adding up and making sense are staring to come together and evidence is all pointing to a dirty cop who is a possible rapist and so much more. Kristen learns that the other victim is a very young girl who is possibly her sister and her life has been one great big lie.Later on we learn they are indeed siblings. We understand how they ended up together and what brought the little girl to be where she was and why but,Who were their parents or parent ? If they are sisters how do you explain this huge age gap ? What happened to the parent or parents and how did that little girl end up in the system or where yourself had come from ? After learning your parents are not your parents you have no thoughts of who your real parents are ? Why did you never question your parents association with Preston especially since the guy made your skin crawl every time you were in the same room with the man ? Clearly something was not right ? The man was clearly and low life and your parents high society snobs who are all about image and connections ? The questions could go on.

Spoiler ends...

From the moment we met Kristen she was and bright and beautiful and funny and she surrounded herself around friends who she loved whole-heartily loved and who her parents felt were beneath her but, she never cared what they thought.Kristen had this great big heart was kind and caring and was strong and determined women who was embracing her independence . So you can imagine for me even though she has some issues that needed to be dealt with I can't imagine Kristen taking any crap from her parents and putting up with it and how she handled the whole entire situation she found herself in and how she handled it. This is not the Kristen we got to know throughout the entire story so none of what happened next made any sense to us.

Alex on the other hand we loved him from the onset of the story .We found him to be funny, cocky, had a sense of humor, fan worthy and had the largest heart and one who was protective of those people big and small and spread goodness to an entire neighbor hood who loved him just as much and he in return.

Overall we really enjoyed the story and enjoyed the characters especially with the love hate friendship that Alex and Kristen had going on in the very beginning because they gave us tons of laughs. The plot itself was a good one overall because the outcome was surprising and had some twists and turns but, for my personal issues with the story it was a good story not a great one for us.

I would definitely read more from this author and would like to go back to read Ben's story as it is connected to this current story. And we have to say we really loved the ending as it was perfect ending to a dark and twisted tale.

CURVES AHEAD follows LEARNING CURVE and I'm not sure if this is a duet or a series or two stand-alones, but they are interconnected by common characters (loved seeing Ben and Alister again) and a thread that weaves between both. I knew Kristen was going to be a bada$$ when I first met her in LC and I waited patiently to read her story. Oh, what a story it is.

I do not want to give anything away so I'm simply going to say: This is a story that is complex and simple and joyous and heart wrenching and all those in between things. The story is well written and told from a dual POV with a quick moving timeline. There are things I was not expecting so as I flipped pages, I stayed on the edge of my seat.

I very much enjoy this author's writing style and In the author bio she writes "My stories tend to be a little dark but with some comic relief, typically in the form of sarcasm." CURVES AHEAD surely checked all of those boxes and more.

I absolutely recommend this book and this author!

Oh, wow! This book... incredible, intense and emotional. Tragic and heartbreaking.

Andi Jaxon is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. Her writing is magical and she is not afraid to cross boundaries of any kind. That's right.....she goes there! I'll warn you now that this book is NOT a fluffy romance! It is gut-wrenching, angsty and suspenseful. I'll also warn you this book is heavy on triggers. While the most graphic of the abuse stems from memories, that won't matter to your heart. You will be effected.

Alex and Kristin.......
The prior book to this one features Alex's twin brother Alistair and Kristin's best friend Ben. That book was also intense in very similar ways. Both books stand alone, however you will have a better reading experience if you read Learning Curve before or even after.

This is one of those times where I can't say too much in my review. I don't want to chance giving away, not even one tiny detail. There are moments you won't understand, moments you won't even see coming, moments your heart will break and most definitely, moments you will be fiercely angry. Not even justice being served will ease your soul.

Alex is a police officer. Because of circumstances in his past, Alex does not want to get to close to anyone. Especially a woman. He has a reputation of being with a lot of women which is one of the reasons, Kristin hates him so passionately. But as you know, there is a fine line between love and hate. Kristin and Alex become close and slowly become more than friends. One of the aspects I loved about this book was that these two didn't become a couple until later; their relationship slowly morphing from enemies to friends to more.

I would describe this book as an enemies to lovers, dark romance trope with a huge helping of angst.

Kristin has her own demons. Or should I say nightmares. Kristin is dealing with so much and her reoccurring nightmares are starting to bleed into her daily life. Fear is prominent but she doesn't understand why and when we find out, neither Kristin or the reader will be prepared.

I promise you this book has a wonderful ending, but not before this couple travel through the worst of Hell. I absolutely recommend this dark, intense, and emotional read. The writer's flow is perfect: you won't be able to put this book down. Andi Jaxon is definitely an author you should check out!

This is my honest review. Thank you for taking the time to read it.

This book is suspenseful and deals with a heavy subject matter but I promise you if you take a chance on this book it will take you on an unforgettable journey. Alexander appears to not take life seriously and is all about having fun times and not getting serious with anyone. Kristen is plagued by haunting nightmares and stuck in a past that she doesn't fully understand. The two couldn't be more opposite but due to their connection with Ben and Alister from the first book, they have no choice but to find a way to get along. As the story builds and Kristen and Alexander spend more time together, they end up breaking down each others walls and seeing a side to one another that they never knew existed. However, this book is not all about love and happily ever afters. There is a darkness to it that will leave you speechless. I never saw the twists and turns coming in this book. I had my suspicions about what was going on but I never thought the book would take the turn that it did. This book is so well written and has so much heart and soul poured into it. I promise if you are brave enough to read this book you won't regret it. I still think about Kristen and Alexander's story and I finished the book a couple weeks ago. I didn't want their story to end!!!

This is the first book I’ve read by Andi Jaxon and I already know I’ll be reading more! I was immediately drawn into the story and couldn’t put it down. Alex is so caring and selfless even though he tries to act like a playboy. Kristen’s history broke my heart but I loved how Alex took care of her and made her feel safe with him. You won’t regret reading this one!

The blurb is deceitful! No warning that my gut would be ripped out due to all the trauma! Geeezus Andi! Give a girl some warning next time if she needs Kleenex handy.

This book doesn’t turn out like you think. There isn’t anything you can bank on except the love between Alex and Kristen being amazing. Everything else will completely stun you and throw you off.

Great book! There are some hard scenes so be warned. It’s worse than what Ben went through so far warning.

Andi Jaxon thank you for making my wish come true, I said after reading Leaving Curve that Alexander and Kristen needed their own book, just didn’t realize I was going to get a 2 for 1!

Warning: If you have triggers about abuse then this is not the book for you.

Alex has a reputation; he is a playboy but underneath the fun and adventurous layers he is a man all about helping his community and giving back. Kristen has always been the rock, when the rock starts to crumble a life time of secrets surface that turns her world upside down.

I personally loved this book, Jaxon writes raw, emotional and heartbreaking stories that are not easy subjects to cover. From the moment I picked up this book I couldn’t put it down, delivering my favorite Jaxon story to date.

Have you ever read a book that pushed you to your emotional limitations? One that took you to the edge of uncontrollable sobbing before restoring your faith in humanity? Curves Ahead is all of those things. Alex and Kristen are the perfect blend of enemies to lovers, dark romance and hints of brother's best friend-ish. Their lives, their interactions and their eventual love is what Tim Burton dreams of.
Story Line: We met Kristen and Alex in Learning Curve - Andi Jaxon's M/M romance she released earlier this year. If M/M isn't your cup of tea, no worries. This book can be read as a stand alone. However if you're curious about M/M, pop that cherry with Learning Curve because oh mama, Ben and Alister's story is absolutely incredible. Anyways, Kristen is fresh out of college and working in the journalism field. Alex is a sexy AF cop whose favorite past time is getting his rocks off. I wasn't his biggest fan at first, I'm not going to lie to you. These playboys don't usually tickle my fancy, however, a reformed playboy who helps out less fortunate kids and has a legit heart of gold? Sign me up. But not everything is as it seems in both Alex's life and Kristen's. And that underlying erie feeling comes to a head in the most twisted, insane and freaking brilliant way. There were times I swore I was going to virtually kick Andi's rear end. But when it was all said and (sadly) done, I could not stop the happy tears from streaming down my face as I read the final words of this masterpiece.
Interaction: One of my favorite aspects of this author's work is her innate ability to weave humor, snark and heat into all of her stories. Alex and Kristen are funny, witty, sweet and so hot together. Even during the darkest of moments, I found myself hanging on to these characters every move, thought and feeling. If you're like me, you won't be Alex's biggest fan from page 1, but as you learn more and more about his complex character and what makes him tick, you will realize he is truly the greatest kind of hero imaginable. And Kristen too. She is a hero nearly just as much as Alex is. The battles they fight independently and together are quite possibly some of the best ever written. Their dynamic is absolutely stellar and their environments are described with such intricate detail that I found myself holding my breath or covering one eye while reading. I literally felt like I was right there too. And that's what marks a phenomenal book.
Laundry: Holy schnikes. Y'all. I need one of those pretty paper fans when talking about this section. Preferably a blue one to match the title cover. But really. If you're looking for a book that packs the heat and curls your toes, this is it. Not a fan of dark romance? You will be. I will say this, their laundry isn't dark. It's not that sort of dark romance. But when they have the laundry it is everything you've ever wet dreamed about. Look at that cover and tell me you won't be having naughty dreams about Alex. He is in control and he is everything I've ever wanted in a book boyfriend. So, when you dive into Curves Ahead, just know, you're probably going to need some relief after certain scenes. Be ready.
Depth: I didn't know if I would relate to this story as much as I have to others. But Kristen's story hit me hard. Kristen's is a journalist and that's what I was straight out of college. But life and journalists getting paid next to nothing changed my career path. But it was Kristen's upbringing that spoke to me on a much deeper level. I was raised by a mother who strived for perfection on very unrealistic levels. The standard of excellence I was (attempted to be) held to killed my spirit almost daily. Now, there are quite a few elements of this story I did NOT relate to because yeah. I don't have that kind of darkness in my closet. However, I was fully invested in her story, and it was both beautiful and terrifying to ride alongside.
If you've never read this author before, Curves Ahead is the perfect place to start. This love story will have you laughing one minute and on the verge of tears the next. I honestly didn't think a book could draw out the sheer volume of tears, heart palpitations and tingles, but Andi Jaxon proved me wrong. And I never want to be right again.

Curves Ahead is an intense, suspenseful, emotional, swoon worthy roller coaster ride. No joke. This book had my emotions all over the place.

This book isn’t going to be for everyone. There are things that could be triggers, so proceed with caution when starting this one.

I am no stranger to Andi Jaxon’s books and honestly have loved every single one of them. If you have read Learning Curve you’ll recognize the main characters of this story. The heroine is Kristen, who is Ben’s best friend, and the hero is Alex, who is Alistar’s twin brother. This can be read as a standalone, however, I believe that the story just flows better if you read Learning Curve first.

Alex Bennet comes across as a playboy, that he just doesn’t care about anything. But there is so much more to the man than what is on the outside. Yes, he is a law enforcement officer but he does so much more, especially for the community he lives in. His past broke my heart, but provides lots of insight into why he does the things he does.

Kristen. That girl. I loved her so much, but my heart also broke for her and everything she had experienced. It was heartbreaking, but I also loved that she tried to overcome it. Her life wasn’t easy, it never has been. She struggles with nightmares and her family, well they are just a piece of work. I was not a fan of them at all!

I loved the relationship between Alex and Kristen. They enjoyed getting under each other’s skin and it lead to some pretty great banter, but also there was a sense of protectiveness that Alex over Kristen and he knew there was something about her that was just different. They had great chemistry whether they were hating or loving each other.

This book broke my heart, but it also pieced it back together. If you’re looking for a romance full of emotions and suspense this is definitely one that I would highly recommend.

This story starts out as a typical enemies to lovers type of story. Kristen doesn’t like Alex one
bit and he is definitely busy getting it on with every woman he wants. The first third of this story sets up the animosity and attraction between these characters, but we are reminded that something is brewing, something that causes Kristen to be fearful. The constant battle against the attraction between these two does get old when sometimes the sarcasm becomes rather hurtful and immature for two grown adults. The middle of the book settles into a steamy relationship and a touch of something sinister brewing underneath. There are many feel good moments and the story takes a more positive turn. In the last third of this book though things become very dark. The summary of this book hints at “nightmares” and a “harsh reality” but that does not at all prepare you for the depravity that concludes this story. If you are triggered by child abuse, sexual abuse, and abuse of any kind, I don’t recommend you pick up this book. I love dark romance, but the twisted way this story ends appears to be more for shock effect than really being necessary to the storyline. A similar bonding experience could have happened for Kristen and Alex without the extreme brutality in the final chapters of this book. The book does give you a sweet HEA, though it find it rather unbelievable given the events in the story. Overall I do believe this story is very much misrepresented and the triggers should place it into a twisted, dark romance with many triggers.

Kristen & Alex ... heartbreakingly beautiful

Andi Jaxon's ability to write books that bring out a myrid of emotions is incredible. In CURVES AHEAD my heart felt as though it wnt through the wringer ... it was broken, repaired, devastated and felt immense love. It was all worth it.

CURVES AHEAD is the story of Kristen Collins and Alexander 'Alex' Bennet, who were introduced in Learning Curves. You'll be happy to read that Alister and Ben are also featured in this book.

To say that Kristen and Alex don't like each other would be an understatement, in fact, she thinks he's a man-whore and he thinks she's a snotty little rich girl. Their story is a complex one, but once they spend time with each other, they begin to realise that beneath the exterior lies a person they didn't expect to find. Kristen's background is full of heartache, although she still manages to smile, be strong and extremely sassy. It is her nightmares that really destroy her though. Alex may be a womaniser, his background too is full of pain and remorse, but he also has the most tender caring heart. I just love the way in which he cares for Kristen and esures that she feels safe with him.

Andi Jaxon has excelled with this one. There are some really dark undertones, that may trigger some readers. Overall it is a really good, fun read. Kristen's story is deeply intense ... a web of mystery that needs to be solved. Not all is heavy though, there are some wonderful lighthearted moments that really had me laughing (family dinners at the Bennet's). Oh and not to forget, some really hot sizzling scenes that could lead to a fan being required.

An excellent read and one that is highly recommended.

Started out confusing but ended up invested! After years of feeling that she didn’t fit in with her family and sick of meeting their expectations, Kristen decides to move out and start living her life for herself and follow her dreams and passions. With the move, she starts to see an increase in her recurring nightmares and as she starts to dig into them, the revelation that comes is shocking. Alex is her best friend’s brother in law and known as a total ladies man. Due to his past, he focuses on no relationships and works to not get close to anyone. As Alex and Kristen get to know each other, they realize there is much more to each of them than the façade and reputation they put on, and they go from enemies of sorts to lovers. Everything combusts at once when Kristen’s nightmares and Alex’s job and past intersect and we find out the explosive answers to all the questions! I was so thrown by this revelation and did not see if coming at all, but it’s what made the book for me. The combination of the suspense and the culmination of the answers that while I started the book really confused ended up so involved and unable to get enough! I definitely advise reading the book previous to this (Alex’s brother’s book) because while this isn’t classified as a duet, I wasn’t the biggest fan of the beginning of this book because of it.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

My heart still hasn't stopped racing since finishing this book! I love reading romance and my favorites include angst and a bit of suspense. We are first introduced to this world in Learning Curve, which was the first book in this series. I quickly fell in love with this author and especially her characters. As soon as Alex and Kristen met in the first book, chemistry was immediate. I knew they would be explosive together. Alex always tries to maintain his playboy persona but in reality he is an amazing man with qualities every women wants in their love interests. It is almost impossible not to fall in love with him. Kristen is a tough cookie that wears a shield of sarcasm. The mystery in this story surrounds her. I hated her parents and their high handed ways! I didn't understand why she didn't just tell them to go straight to hell. As the mystery unfolds, the darkness in the story gets pretty bad towards the end. One scene had me wanting to get sick but it took nothing away from how much I enjoyed this read. Just be prepared for those moments. I don't want to give away any spoilers but there is an immensely, emotional moment in the last chapter that cemented my 5 star rating. I was left in happy tears. Alex's family is so amazing and has all the qualities everyone would choose to have it we could. All together, this story gave me smiles, heat, laughs, nerves, excitement and tears of both sorrow and joy. I had a very hard time putting it down!

This is one book you should just dive into without looking back, thinking about it too much, and just read! There is nothing stopping you and now you have permission to get your read on.

What. Are. You. Waiting. For?

Getting to meet Alexander, Kristen, Ben and Alexi was such a pleasure. This book kept me wanting to get to know more, and curious as to what happened to them when they were very young, the suspense is terrifying, and learning the truth is one thing they aren’t sure if they even want to find out for themselves.

I was at a loss for words when I finished this book.

It has a great flow and it reads very well. Plot was on point and this is one story I was reading along and BAM… What. Just. Happened. Are you kidding me! Fabulous.

The characters are amazingly written, and they all have their own personalities. I love to see such great details into who they are and what makes them tick. This was a great example of that.

This book has it all from the boy and girl drama, push and pull of characters, best friends, family, and the ever consuming lust for the one you aren’t supposed to have and you’re pretty sure they hate that you even breath. Yeah, there’s lots of that.

This book completely blew me away. It starts out as your typical enemies to lovers read but it is so much more. It hit me with so much power. Kristen and Alexander start out rubbing each other up the wrong way before they manage to break through each other's walls.

Kristen though is keeping something secret. Something that is horrifying and that nobody should ever have to experience. At the point that you begin to understand Kristen, the pace picks up a notch and it takes on a journey with so many twists and turns that keep you on the edge of your seat. Let me say that I absolutely loved Kristen and her strength and her courage. Despite her history she takes no messing and the verbal sparring that takes place with Alexander brought a smile to me and sparks between the two of them.

Alexander's public image is very different from who he actually is. He comes across as a jerk with Kristen but when you see in his own neighbourhood helping those around him, your heart melts and I certainly swooned. As Kristen gets to know him in his own environment, her opinion of him shifts.

Another fantastic read by Andi Jaxon. The story may be trigger for some readers so read with caution but the story is told in such a powerful way that I couldn't put it down.

Curves Ahead was everything that I was hoping for and more. I knew that it was going to be a bit on the darker side, but I had no clue. Andi Jaxon delivers a powerful story that makes you feel exactly what the characters are feeling and can put yourself in their shoes, which for the subject matter is a little terrifying.

No spoilers, but Alex and Kristen hate each other. He sees her as an uptight spoiled little rich girl and she sees him as a playboy that is always laughing and takes nothing seriously. When they are thrust together by their friend groups, can they discover that there is even more there? Or will they just find that a lot of secrets are about to be coming into the open and ruin the fragile facade of their lives?

All in all, this book was pretty heavy but Jaxon includes some much needed comedic/dry sarcasm moments perfectly to take away from the rising tension in the book. I highly recommend reading this book if you are not affected by certain triggers and like things a little dark! 5 stars from me!

PS: Thank you to Andi Jaxon and Enticing Journey Book Promotions for allowing me an ARC to voluntarily read and review honestly!

So I went into this book somewhat blind, but it’s easy to figure out who the characters are, what they mean to each other, and what they’ve all been through. If you have any abuse triggers, this is NOT the book for you. If you don’t, then read this story and be prepared for the mind games you’re about to experience.

I was hooked by the possible panic attacks and “is this real”worry that Kristen had, and then Alex and his reactions to her and need to protect her kept me reading for more. Their frenemies to somewhat friends to lovers to HEA journey is full of emotional growth and learning to trust, which is all the more impressive when we finally learn just how twisted and tangled Kristen’s past and present both are. I wanted to cry, throw up, throw the iPad, yell, and keep reading all at the same time, especially toward the end of the book. But then? Then, Alex rides in to save the day in spectacular fashion and I found myself wishing for more time with him and Kristen.

This was my first book by this author, but it definitely won’t be my last.

I've been waiting to read this story, which seems like forever, and I'm so glad I did. This book has it all. Dual POV, characters you WILL fall in love with, characters from her previous book (Learning Curves m/m romance), page turner, love, romance, suspense....everything. The title of this book says it all. Curves ahead....every time I thought I knew what was going in, Andi tricked me. And I floved it. My emotions were all over the place, and I'm still in awe after finishing it.
I dont want to give any spoilers away but if you are looking for a book that will pull all of your feelings out at once and throw them in the blender to mix around, then this is the story for you. Kristen was a wonderful and feisty character that you fall in love with. Alex was a character that I had a love/hate relationship with. I always know that if I usually dislike a character at the beginning I will live them at the end. Alex proved that.
Their love story is one for the books and you wont want to miss it. Congratulations, Andi, on a very well job done. Cant wait to read what's next.

This author is quickly becoming my go to author! She develops her characters well and her storylines are intriguing, suspenseful and with just a touch of comic relief. This particular book is a heart wrenching and emotional rollercoaster from the beginning. Alex has a little bit of a reputation as being the town’s playboy but underneath he really tries to help anyone and everyone. Kristen is everybody’s rock but the rock begins to crumble under a lifetime of secrets can she be put back together again? There’s one thing you can always count on- The love Alex has for Kristen even though they try to get under each other skin. The banter between the two of them is absolutely hilarious in the chemistry, whether they are loving each other or hating each other, is off the charts. With this story you better buckle up you are in for an emotional journey!!

Wow, what absolutely amazing book. So much love, heartbreak and happiness.

Andi Jaxon outdone himself again with another amazing book. Another book that you can't put down, he has a way with words.

I just loved all the characters, and seeing all the dynamics between each one.

Alex may seem immature, and not caring even though with his job it seems odd. He has a heart of gold, and really cares about his neighbourhood.

Kristen may of come from a rich background, but it goes to show not everything as it seems. She has a big heart, and an even bigger friendship.

Another amazing book.

This is the first book I've read by this author and after reading the reviews I was intrigued. It's an interesting story. Plenty of twists and turns to keep you on your toes. The darkness of the plot could be a trigger for many, but it was well thought out and managed to show light on a terrible subject. Loving Alex and Kristen battling it out with humour and sass, they were a perfect couple trying to make a go of things and battling against corruption and evil in the world. A truly wonderful read.

Holy crap y'all .... This author has quickly become a go to for me and none of the books have disappointed. I loved Alex and the further we got into the story the more Kristen see's it also. These two will quickly become your two favorite people and will show you a new kinda hate/love relationship. I really feel like Kristen has no idea what shes in for at first but man does Alex know how to break down her walls. Kristen gets some major blows in this story and Alex steps up and proves how much he needs her everytime. Y'all get ready for this rollercoaster ride.

When I found out that Andi was working on another story in this world, I was screaming for joy. She defiantly didn't disappoint. Do you love angst? Love all things twisted? Andi is a queen in her own right. We meet Kristen in Learning Curve as Ben's loyal best friend. Kristen has done things the way that her parents wanted and she just wanted to learn how to do things on her own. She did the thing that her Mother didn't want her to do become a Journalist. Her path keeps getting crossed with Alexander, she wants to hate him. But for some reason she can't, why must the ones we hate create the greatest urges. Is Alexander the man-whore everyone assumes he is? Or is there something deeper?

Most defiantly one of my favorite reads of the fall. This book does not disappoint.

This book took me on a whole journey of emotions. I so loved the banter between Kristen and Alex, amusing and the simmering tension between them was electrifying! Flashbacks of a traumatic past haunt Kristen and when memories become real and frightening, the level of attachment to the characters increased tenfold for me. A truly gripping story.

Alex and Kirsten’s story is an emotional roller coaster from beginning to end, and is a dark and intense read. This gifted author has written an awesome story with a complex and intricate, enemies / lovers plot, as well as having secrets, lies, humor, and is a steamy read, which all have me totally captivated throughout this addictive story. I highly recommend for all readers, just be aware there may be triggers for some.
