Dear Friend,

It continues to be a great honor to serve and represent you in the U.S. Senate. As a senior member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, I have the unique opportunity to secure funding that addresses Granite State priorities. I’m very pleased to share with you that the annual government funding legislation for fiscal year (FY) 2022 was signed into law by President Biden this week. I worked to include more than $62.4 million for New Hampshire projects to provide assistance to Granite State communities and help move our nation forward. This includes:

  • Increasing access to affordable housing for working families in areas like Concord;
  • Connecting Granite Staters to quality affordable health care, particularly in underserved rural areas, by expanding Dartmouth-Hitchcock centers;
  • Repairing and revitalizing roads and airports across our state, including updates at the Manchester-Boston Regional Airport;
  • Enhancing community-police relations and improving accountability through statewide law enforcement initiatives;
  • Preserving outdoor recreation spaces, like the Franconia Ridge Trail Loop in the White Mountains.

You can take a look at the full list of New Hampshire projects here.

During negotiations around the funding bill, I made sure New Hampshire wasn’t short-changed the funding and resources it deserves to address critical needs in our communities. That’s why the congressionally directed spending process is so important to help smaller states like ours get their fair share and deliver for working families. This government funding law is a win for our families, veterans, small businesses and many more. I’m proud of the New Hampshire priorities secured and I’m looking forward to seeing this funding in action. Now it’s time to get these dollars out the door.

Sincerely,

One of my most important responsibilities as a U.S. Senator is assisting New Hampshire residents who need help navigating federal agencies. I’ve worked with my staff to help Granite Staters avoid foreclosure, secure military commendations, deliver delayed Social Security and Medicare assistance and access VA benefits, among other services. If you have an issue with a federal agency, you can open a case here. If it is time-sensitive, you can call my Manchester office at (603) 647-7500.
