Please register below for the FREE workshops of your choosing. You are welcome at as many as you like!  Our offerings are geared towards families with children ranging in age from birth to 8 years old; please know families with children of all ages are welcome! A calendar note and virtual link will come to you prior to the workshop date.  Northampton Public Schools is grateful for the support of the EEC CPPI & CFCE grants that funds these workshops.

Monthly Family + Professionals Workshop with educational consultant, Chrissy Dagostino. Join Chrissy for insight and tips on the development of young children.

with Chrissy Dagostino and guest Dan Lemaire, OT/RL.

Monthly Family Game Time at Forbes Library
Drop in or RSVP to play games with Ashley and meet other families! Enjoy collaborative games like Snug as a Bug and Busy Town, as well as turn-taking games like Spot It!, Hiss, and Zingo. Games are a great way to build communication skills, problem-solving, and brain development. It's also an enjoyable way to promote family time. 

This Monthly Family Game Time is geared toward families with children ages 3-8 years old. We'll get together on the third Tuesday of each month from 4:00-5:00 pm at Forbes Children's Library in the Community Room.

Families in the Garden- with Grow Food Northampton!

Wake up the Garden! We will use our five senses to notice how the garden wakes up after a long winter, and help our farmers and gardeners get the land ready for spring.

For children birth-8 years old and their caregivers.

A NEW MASSACHUSETTS IEP* FORM IS COMING IN 2025!

Caregivers are invited to join NPS Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC), Student Services, and Laurel Peltier of the Collaborative for Educational Services to familiarize yourself with the new IEP components.

Kestrel Family Hike
Revive outside with your family, Kestrel Land Trust, and the Northampton/Hadley Family Connection at the NPS Early Childhood Center. Families are invited to meet us at the trailhead for a family-friendly stroll through nature. All family members are welcome!

Be sure to wear sturdy shoes, bring water, and pack a snack if needed. We look forward to sharing the trail with you.

Honest Conversations: What's developmentally appropriate for young children?

Early childhood educator Suzanne Stillinger helps you navigate sensitive topics like death, racism, injustice, and violence and demonstrates how you can weave these topics into everyday conversations by leaning on children's natural curiosity, joy, empathy, and wisdom.

Monthly Caregiver Cafés

Join early childhood educators, Mandy and Ashley, along with other caregivers/parents for an evening of casual conversation among caregivers as you help each other celebrate and navigate the ups and downs of parenting!

Childcare is provided and dinner is served for all in attendance. This is an IN-PERSON event at Bridge Street School and meets monthly on the first Tuesday (some date exceptions noted) from 5:30-7 pm.

Playdates at Smith College Museum of Art:

Artful adventures in and around the museum for 2-5 year olds and their caregivers!  Explore a different theme each session, offered on selected Fridays throughout the year, plus a Sensory-Inclusive Saturday session.

Registered families can join us in the Atrium of the Smith College Museum of Art for open play and art experiences from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Upon arrival, sign up for a museum tour slot for 9:45, 10:15, or 10:45 a.m. These interactive experiences in the galleries for up to ten children and their caregivers will be led by museum educator Gina Hall. Families can connect, play, and create in the Atrium with NPS early childhood educator, Ashley Miller, when not in the museum. 

Participation will be capped at 30 children.
