Job Purpose
The Email Marketing Executive plays a fundamental role in our central marketing function by supporting our trading activity through weekly email campaigns and managing customer journeys through our email CRM programmes.
This includes the planning and execution of our email programme to meet the business objectives for customer acquisition, reactivation and retention. Ensuring activity is optimised through the use of appropriate tools and methods and aligned to communication plans. This role will also support in the growth of our database and increasing customer engagement
Working closely with all areas of the marketing function, Merchandising, Design and Retail teams.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
EMAIL CHANNEL MARKETING
- Production and maintenance of the email channel plan
- Weekly and monthly reporting on email KPI’s
- Plan, implement, measure and develop the customer email CRM programme
- Own the customer experience on our email channel, developing and implementing a ‘Customer Journey’ plan for email sign-up’s, either directly from the website, in-store or through other activities.
- Optimise our email programme by utilising functionality within our Email Service Provider e.g. Dynamic content, geo-targeting, testing etc.
- Working with E-Commerce Manager to develop our data segmentation planning within our email programme
- Ensure email activity is shared across the team and business in a timely manner
BRAND AND DESIGN
- Working with Brand Communications Manager and Graphic Design Manager to ensure email execution is aligned with wider marketing communications plans
- Email build and creative development both independently and working with creative agency, in-house design team and Content Manager, ensuring alignment with Rohan Brand Guidelines
PRODUCT MARKETING
- Liaise with the Merchandising function over category and product inclusion in email campaigns
- Ensure product communications are consistent with agreed segmentation positioning, product information, product descriptors and technology benefits
TEAM
- Managing external agencies and ESP in a professional manner, ensuring Rohan is obtaining value for money at all time
- Proactively liaising with all Marketing team members to ensure a co-ordinated approach to all marketing activities
GENERAL
- Represent marketing and channel responsibilities at meetings
- Ensuring your expenses, credit card analysis and receipts, purchase orders and invoices are administered appropriately

Technical Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum three years’ experience working with Email Service Providers e.g. Emarsys, Dotmailer etc and delivering email campaigns
- Graphic design tools such as Photoshop or InDesign
- Direct experience with Emarsys ESP desirable
Knowledge & Experience
- Good understanding of business and digital marketing KPI’s – Clicks, CTR%, Opens, OR%, Conversions, CR%
- Experience of building customer journeys and using content as an engagement tool
- Retail sector experience beneficial but not a requirement
- Interest in, and knowledge of, the outdoor and travel sectors
