Greetings from Environmental Encroachment !! "EE" is a Chicago-based Psychedelic Dance-Party Brass Band Explosion that's been blowing minds for years. Our performance is a one-of-a-kind experience that blurs the lines of performer and audience through thundering horns, heavy drums, and everyone's shaking hips!
We are extremely passionate about providing people this experience, and truly value the privilege. We've played fests such as DoDivision Kid's Fest, Riot Fest, Lollapalooza, Burning Man, and our not-for-profit HONK! family. HONK! is a free weekend festival in Boston, Seattle, Austin, Detroit, and now Wollongong, Australia, where EE is attempting to travel with other mobile bands in an effort to reclaim and enjoy public spaces through music and dance.
We give back to communities via charity performances and we've taught students in many schools via free workshops at MIT, Harvard, Rhode Island School of Design, Staten Island Community Charter School, Northwestern University, St. Alphonsus Academy for the Arts, and several public high schools. Our performances are family-friendly.
Our travel costs quickly add up when we bring our whole crew. We are asking for TRAVEL ASSISTANCE for 10 members to fly to the 2nd Annual HONK!Oz (January 8-10) in Wollongong, Australia. Last year a few EE members attended the inaugural HONK!Oz fest and want to continue to spread the EE magic to our friends down under with a full crew. We have already secured housing and food expenses, but with round-trip tickets costing $2,000 per person, we cannot do this alone. Please give what you can and help us spread the power of HONK! across the globe.
