Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians Annual Peshawbestown Powwow  August 17-18, 2024 

TRADER/ VENDOR RULES, REGULATIONS AND APPLICATION  

The Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians will host our annual Peshawbestown Powwow. The Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians reserve the right to make all final decisions regarding items traded, sold, displayed etc., anytime at this powwow.  

RULES & REGULATION- Limited Space     

The Native American Indian Arts and Crafts Act of 1990- makes it unlawful to offer or display for sale or sell any goods in a manner that falsely suggests it is Native American Indian produced, a Native American Indian product, etc.  

Vendor set-up begins Wednesday, August 14th at 9am to all approved registered vendors.  Powwow Committee will assign spaces. Limited Space. Please let us know if you are arriving early. 

Trader/Vendor set up must fit within the given space.   No reserved spaces.  

Vehicles are to be in designated parking and camping areas only. Movement of vehicles within the Traders/Vendor spaces will be limited to set-up and take down only. No exceptions.  

Sales tax is the responsibility of the individual Peddler/Traders/Vendors.  

Trader/Vendor space is not transferable or refundable.    

ALL areas must be clean.  The trader/vendor is responsible for maintaining their booth area.  

Raffles are not allowed, except by the Powwow Committee or prior approval from Powwow Committee.  

NO pets are allowed; animals assisting disabled persons are welcome. However, animals are not allowed by the dance arena, no exceptions.  

Food Vendors must comply with all applicable Health Department Rules and Regulations and attach valid “Food Handlers Certification”.  A Tribal Sanitarian will be onsite to inspect all food vendors by Friday, August 16th by 5pm.   Food Vendors must be set up for inspection along with food menu.      

Power- $25 per booth space.  Limited Space.  All electrical cords shall be secured, to prevent injuries resulting from their use.  Any trader using electricity who did not request electrical service on their trader application shall pay a $125 penalty fee.    

Generators are allowed- Due to the camping area, generators are prohibited from 11:00 pm – 7 am.   

No Peddlers of any kind- Individuals selling items around the powwow arena are prohibited.   

No Alcohol, Drugs or Firearms.  

Space is limited- All vendors must be approved by Powwow Committee.   

Deposit- 50% of vendor fees. The deposit is due upon application approval.   

All fees must be paid prior to setting up at powwow. Cash (US), Credit Card payment by Friday, August 16th at 12pm before powwow.  

Pow-wow Committee decisions are all FINAL.

I understand that The Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians and the GTB Powwow Committee are not liable for loss, theft and/or damage of artwork, goods, crafts, etc. or any personal injury sustained at this event. I will assume all risks as a Trader/Vendor at this Powwow event. I have read these Rules and Regulations and I agree to abide by these. I understand that if I or any of my staff violate any of these Rules and Regulations, as well as Local, State, Federal, and Tribal laws/ordinances, it could result in my removal from Tribal property and that my registration fee will not be refunded.

All decisions of the Powwow Committee are FINAL.
