GIFT

YOUR

NEIGHBOUR

A LOCAL

FOOD INITIATIVE

A simple idea...

Would you like to gift food to someone who has asked for support?

You've surplus food but no time to drop off to a foodbank service?

You're interested in financially donating - with 25% more added by the Government through Gift Aid - so we can purchase good food at super low prices?

Or you'd be interested in sponsoring a fruit and veg box that we buy from local businesses?

You'd like to receive a bag of groceries on a Monday afternoon? (www.bit.ly/Giftmeal)

See our story on Instagram...or financially donate here: 'Gift Your Neighbour' - Just Giving donation page.

The "Gift Your Neighbour" idea...

Volunteers from local refugee charity Salusbury World have worked with our resident associations, community organisations, mutual aid groups and local businesses such as Cuore Italian Deli , Winkworth and Akoya over the past two years to create food hubs.

We are currently at NW Works at 135 Salusbury Rd between 12.00-2.00pm on Mondays (and have previously been on Lonsdale Rd, Salusbury School, the Maqam and William IV). Food can be dropped off there or we can collect from your home on any day or time.

Thanks to neighbours' contributions, the hubs have raised over £28,000 in funding and hundreds of weekly food donations from our community (thank you, everyone!), allowing us to deliver food to 230 people (54 homes) within half a mile of Queens Park every Monday.

Food gift parcels

We accept any items that are in-date and unopened. Our ideal items would be those you love to eat yourself and you'd like to 'gift on'. These are neighbourly gifts.

Our volunteers prepare gift bags that have a mix of fruit/veg bought from local stores on the Kilburn High Rd, bread donated by Gails and non-perishable food the household can cook with such as rice, pasta and tinned tomatoes.and sauces.

The gifts can be requested via www.bit.ly/Giftmeal.

You can also use us as a 'drop off' point for non-perishable food for us to distribute to foodbanks (such as Brent Foodbank, Sufra NW London or other food services in the area (such as The Granville Community Kitchen in Carlton Vale and Laurence's Larder on Christchurch Ave).

QUEENS PARK

FOOD HUB

Every Monday volunteers from Salusbury World, local Residents' Associations & other volunteers prepare 'Gifts for neighbour' parcels to distribute to vulnerable families in the area.

Please bring donations between 12.00-2.00pm on a Monday to NW Works, Unit 7, 135 Salusbury Rd or we can collect from you at home.

The Maqam COMMUNITY

hub

Our volunteers no longer prepare parcels at the Maqam on Wrentham Ave every Thursday but the team have very kindly offered to accept any food or toiletries donations for us to collect.

Our team will use donations for our Monday parcels and share any perishables such as fruit and veg with Granville Community Kitchen and other partners.
