JC Professional Development Workshop Proposal Form
We are seeking faculty development workshop proposals for Adjunct Learning Day (ALD), as well as during the semesters leading up to ALD.
Adjuncts who organize a workshop are paid for preparation and facilitation time at a rate between $20-32/hour, depending on Adjunct or Master status and highest degree held.
If you would like to hold your proposed workshop at ALD, please submit your proposal no later than July 15.

Workshop Topic and Description
Topic should be no more than 10 words. It should catch the attention of attendees and accurately describe your session.

Under "Description," in 200 words or less, please explain what participants will learn from this workshop and whom in particular this workshop will benefit. Workshops should include active attendee participation and clear participant outcomes.

Topics of special interest include (but are certainly not limited to) the following:

  - Active teaching/learning strategies
  - Contextualizing course material
  - Clinical instruction best practices
  - Mentoring, motivating, and encouraging students
  - Flipped classroom techniques

Technology
  - Using JetNet to enhance learning in face-to-face classes
  - Online learning best practices
  - Incorporating apps, the web, ed tech tools, etc. into instruction
  - Using Open Educational Resources

Diversity
  - Creating an inclusive classroom environment
  - Culturally responsive teaching
  - Classroom practices for learners of all ages
  - Incorporating global perspectives into teaching and coursework

Other
  - Cross-department collaborations
  - Organizing faculty small group discussions on a book or article about innovative teaching and learning topic
  - Other topics relevant to enhancing student success at JC
