Doesn't it seem that the more we seek happiness, the more elusive it becomes?
There is an easy fix, hiding in plain sight. Fun is an action you can take here and now, practically anywhere, anytime. Through research and science, we know fun is enormously beneficial to our physical and psychological well-being, yet fun's absence from our modern lives is striking.
Whether you're a frustrated high-achiever trying to find a better work-life balance or someone who is seeking relief from life's overwhelming challenges, it is time you gain access to the best medicine available. The Fun Habit is the ultimate guide to reap the serious benefits fun offers.
Grounded in current research, accessible science, and practical recommendations. The Fun Habit explains how you can build having fun into actionable and effortless habit and why doing so will help you become a healthier, more joyful, more productive person. In the vein of Year of Yes, 10% Happier and Atomic Habits, The Fun Habit is an inspiring and motivational guidebook that you will want to share with everyone in your life.
Author Mike Rucker, health expert and behavioral scientist, undertook his own quest for happiness that only left him more unhappy. In The Fun Habit, he shares vital research and stories from himself and others who have improved their lives by making fun an actionable and natural habit. He shows you how you can easily do the same, making fun a regular part of your life in a way that feels comfortable and authentic. He encourages you to reevaluate your pursuit of happiness and offers a method or discovering and defining fun that is uniquely and meaningfully personal. As Mike says, “We can’t always make ourselves happy, but we all have the agency to find ways to become healthier, more joyful, and even more productive by developing our own Fun Habit.”
Why this book?
After choosing three books and asking our current members and Book Club alumni which book was their first choice, The Fun Habit won! As one member said, "Who doesn't want more fun in their life?"
