Unite Here Local 2850 has represented Food and Beverage workers at the Castlewood Country Club for over 30 years. As many in our community know, contract negotiations at the Castlewood Country Club have been going on since September 2009. Club managers have LOCKED OUT 59 WORKERS OUT on February 25, 2009 because the workers won’t accept the Club’s Healthcare proposal that would bring out of pocket family medical expenses to $739/month. Castlewood workers earn on average $12.53/hour, this jump in medical costs would mean that workers would lose access to medical coverage for their families entirely.
