OCRA Fall Conference Presenter Application 2018
On behalf of the Orange County Reading Association, I am delighted that you are interested in joining us for our Fall Conference on September 22, 2018, at Cal State Fullerton. Our theme this year is “Include, Inquire, Innovate: Bridging STEAM & Literacy in Today’s Classrooms.” The conference is scheduled from 7:45 a.m.–1:00 p.m. Julie Coiro will be our keynote speaker. She is an associate professor in the School of Education at the University of Rhode Island, where she teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in reading and digital literacy and co-directs the Ph.D. in Education program and the Graduate Certificate in Digital Literacy. Julie conducts research and speaks nationally and internationally about the new literacies of the Internet, online reading comprehension strategy instruction, collaborative knowledge building during inquiry, and effective practices for technology integration and professional development.
Depending on how many presenters we have you may be asked to present during both sessions. Each session will be 50 minutes. Session I is from 9:15-10:05 and Session II is from 10:25-11:15. Breakout session presentations are an integral part of our conference and an important part of our success.
Once we make our selection we will send you a presenter letter and form you will need to fill out via email.
