RPDP Secondary Literacy National Board Candidate Workshop Registration
Purpose: To assist National Board candidates in the thinking and writing involved in completing Components 2 – 4 of the National Board Certification process
Outcomes:
Through direct instruction, discussion and collaboration with colleagues, National Board Candidates will….
• Understand and apply the thinking and writing involved in the National Board certification process
• Develop and refine descriptive, analytic and reflective writing skills
• Apply, refine, analyze and reflect on formative and summative assessment practices
• Work in collaborative response groups to revise and edit Components 2 – 4
Course Description:
This series of 2-hour workshops will address the thinking, analyzing, reflecting and writing demands of Components 2 – 4 of the National Board Certification process. Instruction will be a blend of lecture, online, whole class and small group discussion, and peer writing review and response. A writing workshop approach will be taken, so participants will read and respond to colleagues writing and instructional videos.
Participants have the option of taking the workshops separately or as a complete series. If participants attend all four workshops and complete an additional four hours of homework online (12 hours), they may earn 4 CUs.
