Introduction

Rotorua X is looking for start-ups or newly established businesses/social enterprises to participate in Incubate - a 12 week programme to help them succeed and grow.

This programme is fully funded by Rotorua Lakes Council.  There are limited fully sponsored seats in the programme but organisations have the option of funding themselves through the programme at a cost of $95 per week plus GST.

Rotorua X Incubate is facilitated by business growth expert Darren McGarvie, co-founder and chief coach of Firestation. Additional facilitation is provided by other organisations such as BDO and Employers & Manufacturers Association.

Participants will receive business coaching in both group and one-on-one sessions plus training modules to build business capability. This will help participants to set goals, implement actions and increase overall success through business planning to help them work on their business or social enterprise.

Topics covered are: Marketing Essentials, Sales Strategies, Employment Essentials, Online Marketing, Business Essentials, Secrets of Tax & Xero, Pitching & Pricing.

The programme will commence in November and requires a time commitment of 2-3 hours per week. Most sessions will be held on Wednesday afternoons.

Further criteria:
- Organisation must be generating income from sales and have access to capital
- Must own a laptop/PC or tablet/iPad with access to the internet
- Previous business ownership or related commercial experience is necessary
- Passion, energy and a desire to succeed

IMPORTANT NOTE: Successful candidates will be required to sign a ‘Pledge of Commitment’.

This document confirms that all sessions will be attended, participants understand the need for confidentiality and acknowledge that Rotorua Lakes Council reserves the right to be reimbursed for the cost of the programme should attendees fail to participate to a satisfactory level.
