Person-Centred Emergency Preparedness (P-CEP) Peer Leadership Program
What is it?
QDN and The University of Sydney developed a P-CEP Peer Leadership Program. The program was co-designed with people with disability to help them make a plan to stay safe in emergencies. The P-CEP program helped 47 Queenslanders with disability make a plan and reached over 300 members through peer support groups/networks.
We are expanding this program to Victoria! We’re seeking interest from people with disability in Victoria to become P-CEP Peer Leaders to help support people in your community living with disability to help them become more prepared for an emergency or disaster.
What do I need to do?
1. Be part of five weekly online workshops to learn about:
- Person-centred emergency preparedness
- How to make your own plan for an emergency or disaster
- How to share the information with others
You only have to attend one session per week. There will be two different timing options for you to pick from. We will send you more information when you register.
The workshops will be held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays each week, starting on the 23 August 2022.
2. Tell others about how they can start to get ready and make a plan for an emergency or disaster.
3. You will also have the opportunity to join our online Community of Practice meetings with other people with disability. This is a place to share your ideas, learnings and tips together.
