amblers Scotland Medal Routes are now available for Rouken Glen Park. Ramblers Scotland is using the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games legacy to

inspire everyone to be more active. They have designed their Medal Routes project to help people get to know the paths and green spaces in their local areas. Medal Routes are three short circular walking routes that start and finish at the Pavilion Visitor Centre. These routes are designed to take approximately 15 minutes (Bronze Route) 30 minutes (Silver Route) and 60 minutes (Gold Route). Rouken Glen Park’s routes are available to download from http://www.ramblers.org.uk/~/media/Files/ Scotland%20microsite/MedalRoutes/MRoutes%20jpegs/Rouken2.jpg?la=en Alternatively, if you have a mobile QR reader, use the QR code to link direct to the URL. Leaflets are also available in the Pavilion Visitor Centre.

Park Improvement Update

n this last year of our Heritage Lottery Fund Project, IBP Strategy & Research is undertaking a Visitor and Observation Survey for Rouken Glen Park on behalf of East Renfrewshire Council. This information will be compared to the data we collected before the park improvement project started in 2011 to see what has changed and also to help improve the park in the future. Face to face interviews should take no more than 10 minutes and we are keen to hear your views. An online version of the questionnaire is also available at http://www.ibpsurveys.co.uk/roukenglen2015e

espite the poor summer,

Rouken Glen continues to be a popular destination for local residents, visitors and nature! A survey of birds in the park has been completed

and an investigation into bryophytes (mosses, hornworts and liverworts) is underway to provide more information about the natural heritage of our park. The human heritage will be further unearthed when Rouken Glen hosts a major archaeological event in September. So come along and enjoy Rouken Glen ….whatever the weather!
