Adjunct Positions
Altar Boy Facilitator
-Assists in altar boy training events
-Helps coordinate altar boy prayer events and fraternity outings
-Makes recommendations to Altar Boy Coordinator on advancements
Altar Boy Sacristan
-Checks cassocks for repair needs
-Launders cassocks and surplices on a regular and as needed basis
-Maintains cleanliness and order of cassocks and surplices (sizes, hangers, etc)
-Makes recommendations on ordering of additional uniforms and supplies
Altar Boy Hierarchy
Masters of Ceremony
-Confirmed members of the Church
-11th or 12th grade or returning VIRTUS certified collegiate
-Knowledge and proven ability to serve Sunday and Daily Mass
-Knowledge and proven ability of serving Holy Hours
-Knowledge or proven ability to serve funerals or other Masses
-At the invitation of the Altar Boy Coordinator
-Uniform:
-Red cassock
-Cross
-White Surplice
-Black pants, black shoes and black socks
Senior Altar Boys
-Confirmed members of the Church
-Recognized by the priests for their dutiful service, appearance, dress, and prayerful positive attitudes
-Knowledge of serving Sunday and Daily Mass
-Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors in High School
-Uniform:
-Red Cassock
-White Surplice
-Black pants, black shoes and black socks
Altar Boys
-Baptized members of the Catholic Church who have received First Holy Communion
-Rising fifth grade or older, or at the discretion of Altar Server Coordinator
-Completion of one year in Altar Serving Novitiate
-Attended an introductory training session
-Continued displayed desire to serve the Mass
-Uniform:
-Black Cassock
-White Surplice
-Black pants, black shoes and black socks
Altar Boy Novices
-Baptized members of the Catholic Church who have received First Holy Communion
-Rising fourth grade or older, or at the discretion of Altar Boy Coordinator
-Service of one year or less
-Displayed desire to serve the Mass

The day began with a trip to The Basic School, where the group celebrated Mass at the Fr. Capodanno Chapel. We were hosted by Fr. Curtis Dwyer and Fr. Matthew Wescott – both Navy Chaplains. We moved onto a meal at The Globe and Laurel and finished our adventure with a trip to the USMC Museum.
