OVERVIEW
You are invited to The Scratch: Seattle Workshop Series!
Inspired by the incredible energy and artistry from last summer, The Scratch is returning to Seattle! We are proud to announce our second Seattle Workshop Series taking place August 11-27, 2019 at 18th & Union and 12th Ave Arts.
The series will feature multiple free artistic and public programs! Offerings include five In Pencil: Staged Readings and two In Pen: Developmental Labs written & performed by professional artists from across the region, as well as a brand-new youth engagement program entitled Playwriting from Scratch: New Works Intensive, and Speed Networking events in which artists of various mediums can meet their creative soulmate.
We are committed to helping writers generate new theatrical works, and cultivating authentic creative relationships amongst artists. This series has doubled in size since last year! We are so excited to grow this community, but we need your help to do it.
HOW TO HELP
In order to pay for our space, compensate our artists, and ensure that all programming is free and accessible to the public, we are raising $20,000 for The Scratch: Seattle Workshop Series. We hope you’ll consider making a meaningful contribution to The Scratch, whatever that means to you!

FUNDRAISING BREAKDOWN
Fundraising Goal: $20,000
- Over 40% goes toward artists’ stipends
- Over 35% goes toward rehearsal/performance space & related expenses
- Roughly 25% covers supplies, marketing, refreshments, etc.
Remaining funds are shared with artists and/or re-invested into the next series we produce.
Did we mention that admission to all of our programming is free?
