Mindfulness & Courageous Self-Care: A Nurturing Retreat (TWU03)

As the seasons begin their shift from light to dark, the holidays lay poised on the horizon and daily stresses continue to pile up, it takes an immense amount of courage to pause, step back, take a breath and choose a more integrated way of being. Join the Whole U and UW Recreation’s Mindfulness Program Manager, Danny Arguetty, for a day of practice, inner-reflection, stress-reduction and intentionally crafted self-care.

In this mindful and spacious day-long experience, you will:

  • Dive into a quick and basic overview of mindfulness.
  • Nurture your body and restore your nervous system through supported and easily accessible yoga postures.
  • Optimize the functionality of your brain through meditative practices (body scan, seated meditation, loving-kindness meditation, etc.) that increase attention, promote resiliency to stress, and improve social and emotional intelligence.
  • Explore the obstacles that lay in the way of your own personal weekly self-care.
  • Fill up your tool bag with quick and effective strategies to reduce stress and create more ease for your body and mind.
  • Carve out time to slow down, relax and restore.
  • Connect with other like-minded UW community members dedicated to personal growth and well being.

This retreat is accessible for everybody regardless of experience with mindfulness, yoga or meditation.
