Don't miss this free training for parents, grandparents, foster parents, child welfare professionals or students, teachers and school staff, counselors, children's ministry leaders and volunteers, and anyone who cares about children who have had traumatic experiences.  We'll gain insight and understanding into this important topic and learn how to better help children who have been abused or experienced trauma.

We're privileged to welcome Dr. Brian Allen to Chambersburg!
Dr. Allen is a clinical psychologist, Associate Professor of Pediatrics, and Psychiatry and Behavioral Health in the Penn State College of Medicine, and core faculty in the Child Maltreatment Solutions Network at Penn State University.  Dr. Allen served for 10 years as the Director for Mental Health Services at the Penn State Children's Hospital's Center for the Protection of Children.  He conducts research on the developmental impact of childhood trauma and maltreatment, the effectiveness and implementation of clinical interventions for children, and problematic sexual behavior among preteen children.  His research is funded by the National Institutes of Health, the Children's Miracle Network, and other public and private agencies.  To date, he has published over 50 scientific papers and book chapters and is the author of the recently released book, The Science and Clinical Practice of Attachment Theory: A Guide from Infancy to Adulthood (American Psychological Association).  He currently serves on the editorial boards of multiple scientific journals and is an Associate Board Member of the Society for Emotion and Attachment Studies.
