In consultation with the UCG COVID task force, we've been making plans for how we could transform our courtyard into a safe space for worship on Christmas Eve alongside an online option. Because one of the primary ways to ensure safety is to limit the number of participants, we are prepared to have multiple services of no more than 50 to 100 people (depending on the community positivity rate and how many the courtyard will hold in socially distanced seating pods). We are hoping to gauge how many of those services we might need in order to accommodate everyone who might want to come.
To that end, then, and assuming that the following were in place, would you want to attend an in-person worship service on Christmas Eve?
*Gathered in the courtyard
*Check-in Table with COVID screening questions, and socially distanced lines
*Advance registration so households can be seated together and with at least 6 feet of distance in every direction from other attendees
*Universal masking
*No singing without masks or for longer than three minutes, if at all
Please note, we will assess the safety of any in-person gathering for Christmas Eve again in mid-December.
