On 30 January 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared COVID-19 as a public health emergency of international concern. National measures enforced to contain the pandemic, has had both healthcare and economic implications to countries. Its healthcare implications have resulted in de-prioritization, disruption, and a decrease in the provision of sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services. Additionally, mobility restrictions and changes in health-seeking behaviour have affected the availability and accessibility of SRH services.

Even before the pandemic, we have seen the struggle of young people accessing information and services on sexual and reproductive health and this crisis has now even made it worse. While we see physical distancing and home quarantine as safety strategies to prevent transmission of the virus, some of us see it as a barrier in fulfilling our right to sexual and reproductive health.

Given the challenges posed by COVID-19 pandemic, online/ virtual learning and knowledge sharing on sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) should continue. With this intent and commitment, we welcome you to this episode of #APCRSHR10 Dialogues on 25th May.
