Time to Shine - Free Online Children's Oral Health Training
Tooth decay is the most common oral disease in children and young people. One in three 5 year olds in Herefordshire have decayed, missing or filled teeth. The impact this can have on a child’s health and wellbeing is significant, causing pain, missed education and low self esteem.

This FREE online Oral Health training programme is for all parents and professionals working with children and families across Herefordshire.

This course will help you to support the children you care for to maintain good oral health. It covers the main causes of tooth decay and simple actions that can be taken to prevent the problem. It also explains when a child’s primary (baby) and adult (permanent) teeth start to appear, and what you should do if a tooth is knocked out. By the end of the session users will have developed their knowledge of oral health and be more confident in how to look after children’s teeth/and or supporting parents and children to have better oral health. For professionals working with families and children the course also has modules which introduces you to ways in which you can support people to develop good oral health habits through effective behaviour change conversations.
