St. Elizabeth’s Episcopal Church would like to invite the whole community to join them in the Square on Wednesday, May 9th at 5:00 PM to bless and pray for all our local businesses and farms. We will have a short service followed by a procession through the square. Father John, the priest at St. Elizabeth’s says, “The creativity and hard work of our neighbors is what sustains this community. Praying for and blessing our neighbors is a meaningful and joyous spiritual activity!”

In addition to a general prayer for all businesses the parish wants permission to pray for businesses by name. Businesses can sign up below or by calling the parish office and leaving a message (706) 864-5423. No contributions are sought other than a spirit of community goodwill. There is also a website with more information at

The Episcopal Church has observed Rogation Days since the 6th Century A.D, when life centered on agriculture. Up until modern times the congregation would walk around the parish and bless all the newly planted crops. Now our livelihood comes primarily from other industries, and thus churches are observing the Rogation Days by blessing all our businesses.
