Engagement Opportunity:
Youth Mission Trip Chaperone
Youth MissionTrip Chaperones contribute to the mission of Fourth Church by supporting staff and accompanying youth on mission trips for service, learning, and recreation.
Trip Chaperones commit to a week away with youth and staff, potentially out of the country. These also commit to assisting with pre-trip work like planning, team-building and fundraising.
Benefits of being a Youth Mission Trip Chaperone include, but are not limited to:

- Personal spiritual growth and discipleship
- Nurturing friendships with other members of the Fourth Church community
- Experience for future endeavors in and beyond Fourth Presbyterian Church
Qualifications for being a Youth Mission Trip Chaperone:
- A sincere and committed faith—we don’t expect you to have all the answers, but we do expect a willingness to ask questions and join others on the journey of Christian discipleship and spiritual growth
- A desire to work alongside young people
- A willingness to be a faithful role model for youth
- Integrity and reliability
- Flexibility for enduring (and helping youth endure) out-of-the-ordinary arrangements for travel, sleeping, and eating
Expectations for Youth Mission Trip Chaperones:
- Commit to fully participate in the lock in, retreat, or mission trip for which you have volunteered, arriving on-time and remaining to the end of the event.
- Be a member and active participant of Fourth Presbyterian Church
- Channel pastoral care concerns to the Associate Pastor for Youth Ministry and help provide care as needed
- Receive training and sign Fourth Church’s Child Protection Policy
- Agree to a background check
- Provide references (if necessary)
