CIS Volunteer Orientation

All volunteers are required to attend this one-hour orientation prior to starting their service. We will review the role of Communities In Schools of Richmond in our area's public schools, important safety information about working within a school and provide training and tips for building meaningful relationships with students. We'll also discuss the many ways volunteers can support CIS and answer any questions about specific volunteer roles and commitments. Finally we will review the next steps to getting started including the background check process.

Important note about our building: Our training space is located up a flight of stairs and unfortunately there is no elevator. If you are unable to walk up and down a flight of stairs, please let us know and we will make alternate arrangements.

Parking: Plenty of free parking is available in the fenced lot across the street from our building. Street parking is also free.
