Emerging Poets Fellowship Application
The Emerging Poets Fellowship is a First Peoples Fund youth development program that works with 4 regional partners including Cheyenne River Youth Project to provide poetry and leadership professional development training to 7 students from your community who are in their Junior and Senior year of high school (starting September 2019). Youth must be 19 years old or younger and will be required to attend 18 poetry, financial literacy, and professional development workshop sessions over a period of 9 months that will mirror the school calendar.

In this Fellowship, fellows will receive poetry, leadership, financial literacy, and professional development training. In addition fellows will also receive:
  - $500 Stipend
  - Learning to Open a Bank Account
  - Creating your own Resume, Cover Letter, and Chapbook Anthology
  - Letter of Recommendation Upon Completion of the Fellowship

Application Due: April 15th
Interviews Conducted between April 15th - May 15th
Fellows are selected by June 1st

Part 3 -  Writing Samples: In this section you will be required to submit 1 poem (in any form, for example: free form, haiku, rap, song, spoken-word, etc.) and an option to submit two other writing samples of any form (poetry, play, short story, formal essay, research paper etc.) and if you are a performer or other type of artist, you can also paste a link to website thats shows your work online such as youtube or instagram, or you can directly email your sample to Jerica at youthpd.cryp@gmail.com.
