 The Eden Project is an educational based
initiative, designed with the aim of laying a
solid learning background for the kids within
the age bracket of (2-15 years) through a
“Fun-Learning” structure and amongst the
seemingly uneducated adults of The Dustbin
Estate in Awodiora, Ajeromi Ifelodun Local
Development Area, Lagos state to stimulate
the burning desire to consider basic
education and acquisition of skills a necessity
of life.
 To provide 50 kids and 20 adults with free basic
education every year
 To empower the enrolled students into our
academy with the basics of arts and culture
 To provide 100 kids in the community with a
balanced diet through our FTK initiative every
month.
VISION
 To raise role models amongst the kids and adults
of this community.
 To contribute to the establishment of a permanent outstanding learning
mechanism that ensures consistent development in the reading culture of
kids and adults
 To provide a platform for uneducated adults to experience the excitement in
being learned
 To facilitate effective partnerships with NGOs, educational consultants,
international facilitators to further strengthen the educational system in The
Dustbin Estate in Awodiora, Ajeromi Ifelodun Local Development Area,
Lagos state.
 To facilitate a process that increases the grow-have fun while learning
awareness through basic education.
 To share, ideas, experiences and innovative approaches for the effective
boosting and transformation of the educational sector in The Dustbin Estate
in Awodiora, Ajeromi Ifelodun Local Development Area, Lagos state.

the learning culture of Awodiora, Ajeromi
Ifelodun Development Area, Lagos state.

KEY DRIVERS
• The Eden Academy
The Eden Academy would be situated strategically in a
place where the kids and par can have fun while learning.
Classes would be every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Day Subjects Time
Monday Maths, English and Science 40 mins
each
Wednesday Craft and Basic Health Education 40 mins
each
Fridays Language 30 mins
Adult Education 1 hour
CRAFT
This is designed to equip them with basic
arts and culture trends through the team
and other youth volunteers.
BASIC HEALTH EDUCATION
This is one of our core areas, our goal is to
use this medium to inculcate in the minds
of the kids basic hygiene and practical
steps would certainly be taken.
 FEED THE KIDS INITIATIVE
This Is slated to hold once every month, with the
main aim of feeding 50 kids with noodles, 1 egg,
drinking water and a fruit.
 EXCURSION
 The best three students for every quarter gets to
visit an exciting part of Lagos with the team.
 REWARD AND RECOGNITION
 The most punctual student every month would get
a book and for the adults, the best in a year gets a
free IT training
 It is an estate of shanties built on the city’s
dump yard. Thousands of people now inhabit
the area. The area was a swamp and a food
plain. In the estate, inhabitants build shacks
erected with wooden planks, zinc roofing
sheets and polythene to protect the structure
from water. People rent the shanks for N500
to N600 per month. There are no toilet
facilities, the inhabitants defecate in the open,
pit toilets are used by high end residents.
 The Eden Team selected education amongst all social issues
listed fundamentally because imperatively every kid and
generation should have it’s roots in platforms that over values,
knowledge e.t.c
Most kids in this community attend informal schools owned
and operated by educated/semi-educated adults.
We believe that by grooming these kids in their forming years
to be educationally sound, the next generation’s hopes stands
a better chance of experiencing changes. The team together
with other youth volunteers would implement a dynamic
curriculum of fun and learning and over time would spread out
to other areas like Information Technology, Basic Recycling
processes and the likes as undeniably some of the wastes in
this area could be used again.

  • 14.  The Eden Team selected education amongst all social issues listed fundamentally because imperatively every kid and generation should have it’s roots in platforms that over values, knowledge e.t.c Most kids in this community attend informal schools owned and operated by educated/semi-educated adults. We believe that by grooming these kids in their forming years to be educationally sound, the next generation’s hopes stands a better chance of experiencing changes. The team together with other youth volunteers would implement a dynamic curriculum of fun and learning and over time would spread out to other areas like Information Technology, Basic Recycling processes and the likes as undeniably some of the wastes in this area could be used again.
