Welcome to a motorcycle tour like no other – you’re cordially invited to ride with us across France and Spain as special guests of Front End Chatter, Britain’s favourite motorcycling podcast, in the Spanish FECtacular Tour 2024. Scorchio!

Podcast hosts Simon Hargreaves (ex-Performance Bikes and Bike magazine) and Martin-Fitz-Gibbons (ex-Bike magazine) would love to have your company and to ride together on a sublime, sun-drenched ten-day tour across the heartland of France, crisscrossing the Pyrenees into Spain, then heading to the Picos mountains before returning home on the Britanny Ferry from Santander – with a live episode of Front End Chatter recorded on the ferry crossing!

This is the motorcycling trip of a lifetime, during which you’ll make lifelong friends and magical motorcycling memories – and you can spend the evenings chatting with of two of most experienced bike journos and podcasters in the country, about anything and everything.

After an overnight ferry from Portsmouth to Caen in Normandy, we’ll spend two days drifting lazily across the wonderful Loire and Dordogne regions of France with an overnight stay in Limoges. Then we head for the bustling village of Bagnères-de-Luchon in the middle of the French Pyrenees, for a three-day stopover to explore the region – and what a stonking series of ride-outs we have on offer, into pure biking paradise in the surrounding hills and mountains, with endless ‘cols’ and including the Pic du Midi with its cable car and mountain top restaurant. Spain and the ‘sunnier side’ of the Pyrenees is only minutes away and there are countless passes on our doorstep, with evocative names: the Col du Portillon, Col de Peyresourde, Col d'Aspin and Col de Tourmalet – and as these are routes regularly used by the Tour de France, the tarmac is in top-top condition.

Our hotel is in the centre of Luchon, with a wide selection of popular local bars and restaurants, as well as a natural thermal spa with restorative waters and a fabulous natural sauna deep in the rocks – ideal for relaxing at the end of a long ride out. And there will be a lot of riding – the scenery and climate guarantee roads and rides you’ll remember forever.

After three days we ride on over the Pyrenees and into Spain along part of the famous N260, via an overnight stop in Pamplona, to reach another picture-perfect hotel located in the heart of the Picos de Europa national park. The Picos is one of the truly unspoiled areas of Spain, relatively free of traffic and perfect for quality mountain-riding time without a single overtake.

The scenery is breath-taking – the 300 square miles of spectacular natural beauty linking Cantabria and Asturias are amazing, from dramatic rocky peaks rising to over 8000 feet and isolated mountain villages tucked away in the slopes, to deep gorges plunging down vertically into deep river valleys. Or drink in the splendour of sparkling lakes and magical forests that make this a biking adventure playground just waiting to be explored. And a bike is the perfect tool for the job.

The Spanish FECtacular Tour 2024 ends with a mini-cruise back to Plymouth, during which you can enjoy (if that’s the right word) a special ‘at sea’ live recording of the Front End Chatter podcast, with at least one complimentary round of drinks to ease the passage, so to speak.
