SF Fleet Week Lecture Oct. 10; Island Tour


A free online lecture on the Navy's history here and a self-guided tour mark the museum's fourth annual celebration of San Francisco's Fleet Week.

Lecture: RADM Tom Andrews will tell you all about a century of the Navy's history on Treasure and Yerba Buena Islands in a virtual lecture Saturday, October 10 at 10:30 am. Free registration is required; full details here.

Self-Guided Tour: Come visit Treasure and Yerba Buena Islands any time for a self-guided outdoor tour. Visit historic Naval officers' quarters built around 1900, including the last residence of WWII hero Admiral Chester Nimitz, and the beautiful Administration Building of the former Naval Station Treasure Island. See buildings, statues, and even vintage olive trees from the 1939-40 Golden Gate International Exposition. Check out the construction of the redeveloped Treasure Island, now underway. And enjoy the best views of San Francisco's skyline and the Bay Bridge.
