FOCAR is a program for creators in the contemporary dance field interested in exploring choreographic composition in/for informal, public, private and collective spaces. Having as fundamental premise the disciplinary intersection, this course will develop artistic education and investigation in contemporary dance in its intimate connection with architecture, in a logic of occupation, appropriation, disciplinary contamination and innovation in research and development of new references. In this course, subjects such as space, time and movement will be approached, giving the importance of the comprehension of these dimensions in the creation process.
The classes will be presential with a few online modules – depending on the module specificities defined by the tutor, always looking to the unity, complementarity and transdisciplinarity of the program. The headquarters will be at Lugar Instável even though some modules and creation projects might take place outside and at our partners buildings. There will be an intersection with FAÍCC program in a few modules, to encourage the students dialogue and collaboration, and also an intersection with Percursos pela Arquitectura – a project of the Company that, since 1999 creates and presents work in informal spaces.
