Our Guided Investor, Fearless Trader (GIFT) Learning series is specially curated for those who have already been trading the market and want to improve portfolio performance. This flagship 5-part learning series aims to provide a solid foundation on the actual methods used in practice, using real-market examples, to identify which stocks to buy and which stocks to sell.
Many of us always say that we want to invest and put our money in “solid businesses”, but how do we know which among the hundreds of stocks in the market qualify as “solid businesses” or, as we call them, “fundamentally-sound companies”?
Fundamental Analysis and Valuation is the first module for the GIFT Learning Series made for those who are willing to put in the hard work needed to identify fundamentally-sound businesses through economic analysis, ratio analysis, and disclosure analysis, and those that are selling at a bargain through various valuation methodologies.
In this 3-day webinar, the participants will learn how to identify which stocks to buy based mainly on the fundamentals of the companies.

The goal is to have a framework of analysis that the participant can use to systematically evaluate listed companies by focusing on THREE KEY INGREDIENTS of a “fundamentally-sound company”, namely: Profitability, Financial Strength, and Management.

The second module, Technical Analysis, is aimed for traders who are up to train themselves in spotting trends and identifying trading opportunities in different timeframes using price action analysis and technical indicators.
The 3-day module series aims to equip the participants with practical understanding of the method of technical analysis in determining which stocks to buy and which stocks to sell based on how the stock price moves for a specified period with the help of core technical indicators.
What you'll learn:
Understand the core principles of Technical Analysis to firmly ground our studies of price trends and indicators. Learn about market trends and cycles, and how a trader can use that knowledge to identify which trend the market is in at the time of study which can help the trader maximize profits and control risks more effectively. Get to know the different technical indicators and tools to help corroborate our analysis of the price action that would enable traders to find high probability trade setups.

The final module, Build your Own Trading System (BOTS), has the objective of conveying the importance of having a trading system in optimizing performance and controlling trading psychology, and are for seasoned traders who would like to know HOW to build, step-by-step, a system of his/her own.
The 3-day workshop aims to guide the participants about the key ingredients of an effective trading system to enable them to come up with one of their own. We believe that a trading system should be personal -- it should be yours, you should own it, you should understand it, so that you have all the reasons to follow it consistently.
What you'll learn:
Know your trader profile, focusing on investor/trader psychology. Learn to identify investing and trading opportunities, with good understanding of fundamental and/or technical analysis, and some experience in actual stock market trading/investing. Undergo a hands-on workshop on backtesting to know if the system really works. Learn to practice risk management and key concepts like risk-based position sizing and cut loss levels. Finally, learn how to monitor and evaluate your portfolio performance.

Let’s dig further! The goal of the first advanced module is to build on what we have learned in Fundamental Analysis and Valuation with a deliberate focus on building the participant’s capability to calculate a company’s fair value estimate.
There’s no better way to learn how to do it than by ACTUALLY doing it, right? Then that’s what we're going to do! So be sure you are ready to crunch some (read: A LOT of) numbers!

Know how to build valuation models for different types of businesses which you can use to calculate an estimate of the company’s fair value.

This advanced module on Technical Analysis is all about “SET-UPs” — the kind that make you money (or avoid big losses)! We will take what we have learned from GIFT Technical Analysis a notch further, by dissecting stock charts, adding some other helpful technical indicators, and, more especially, demonstrating how combining classical technical analysis with the Elliott Wave analysis can improve your capability to spot high probability trading setups and managing your trades more effectively.
What you'll learn:
Know the characteristics of the waves, identify what wave the market or stock is currently in, and build a trading strategy consistent with the prescriptions of Elliott Wave Analysis helped by the application of classical methods.

Aaron Say is the market consultant of FirstMetroSec. A graduate of Applied Economics and Accountancy from De La Salle University Manila, Aaron was a former economist with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) and has over a decade of experience in trading the US and Philippine stock markets. He retired from corporate life at age 29, he now has his own investment advisory firm, Rhyme and Reason Investment Research and Management. Aside from his consultancy work, he is an educator for the Philippine Stock Exchange and a regular resource speaker in ANC and Bloomberg/One News. Aaron is a Chartered Market Technician (CMT), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and also a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA).
I like the Aaron's Socratic method of teaching as it generates small pauses to allow students like me to understand the unfamiliar scenario, generate hypothesis, and get validated/invalidated when Aaron proceeds to the answer.
