Hullegeb Israel-Ethiopian Arts Festival 2024

The Hullegeb Israeli-Ethiopian Arts Festival is another unique event from the Confederation House, presenting the Israeli-Ethiopian creativity that has been flourishing recently in music, theater, and dance.

The festival takes place every December and combines the traditional Ethiopian in the theater, dance, and music spheres with modern contemporary Israeli culture. The Hullegeb festival sets the stage for the creators of this new, artistic and spectacular language and exposes it widely to the public.

"Alice": A new show by Hullegeb Theater Group under the artistic direction of Moshe Malka

Join us for Alice: the show that claims there is reality and there is no reality, there is black and there is no black, there is white and there is no white, there is identity and there is no identity. The ground drops out from under Alice's feet and she falls into the ground. No space, no time. Who is she? The show is a comic, wordless physical adaptation of Lewis Carroll's book "Alice in Wonderland." Four anonymous characters are suddenly asked to tell a story, and inadvertently they tell the story of Alice, the curious girl. The characters find themselves falling into the depths of the earth, following Alice, where they discover there is no longer a clear and permanent reality. Empty stage, physical theatre, slapstick, fast, dynamic rhythm. When?  December 8 at 20: 30 and December 12 at 21: 00 Where? Confederation House

In the new neighborhood, she meets people who are different from her, including a girl from an upstanding upbringing, who turns out to be dealing with a life story identical to her own. During the play, secrets are revealed through Fanta's diary that are related to her separation from her sister who still remains in Ethiopia. Orit Tashoma: The Abundance of Poverty- A Spoken Word Show

"Abundance in Poverty" is the debut album by Spoken Word artist Orit Tashoma. Her texts deal with the crisis of identity and the search for connection to the Israeli establishment and society, along with mystical texts that raise questions and thoughts about one's place in the modern Western world. Tashoma is planting seeds from Ethiopian and Israeli culture and hopes to grow a new and refreshing musical tree that makes no apologies for the way it has grown in the Israeli landscape. When?
