Please fill out the form below to sign up for the Kettering Trash Dash on the 27th April. Below is an outline of the day:
08:00 - Check in
08:45 - Safety briefing
09:00 - Litter picking race begins
10:30 - Litter picking race finishes - teams must be back for this time!
10:30 - 20 minutes of litter sorting commences
10:50 - Weigh in begins, and points are tallied
13:00 - Award is given to winner at the Market Place
You will be provided with:
- Litter pickers for your team members (unless you wish to bring your own)
- One hoop per team
- High vis for all team members
- As many bin bags as you need
You must bring your own gloves and we recommend thick gardening gloves. You may also bring your own equipment, such as additional hoops or a dustpan and brush, but everyone will be provided with the essentials.
Points system for litter picking competition
Litter will be weighed and will score your team points, based on the following rules. This system is based off the Japan Litter Picking World Cup rules, with points given for each category per 100 grams:
- Burnable and nonburnable litter - 10 points per 100g
- Cans and bottles - 12 points per 100g
- PET plastic
bottles - 25 points per 100g
- Cigarette butts - 100 points per 100g
For those teams with all members under 18 years old, you must have a legal adult accompany your team for safety, and their name and contact details must be outlined below. If you check in on the day without your registered adult, you will not be allowed to compete.
