As we look at the problem of homelessness, we realize that it is bigger and more complex than any one organization. So we have resolved to make a difference where we can. Our goal has always been to work ourselves out of a job, and to help the people who are WILLING to walk through our doors. During the month of December we have had 4 unique individuals spend the night in the shelter. Some of these have been able to move back home to family, have gained access to jobs, and have found mentors and life direction. Through the love, kindness, and support of our volunteers, lives are being changed. However, we have had few or no guests for about a week and a half. So as a leadership team we have decided to close the shelter. (The person that has been coming for the last few days is being taken care of.) Over the next two weeks or so we will be asking God what He wants us to do. We believe that there are people who need help and that there are people who want to give that help. Please pray with us to discern what that looks like in the coming year. Remember...WE ARE NOT DONE! We don't know what God will do next, but we are excited about a new chapter of this ministry.
