MYNA Convention Volunteer Application 2018
MYNA's 2018 Convention, in conjunction with ISNA's Annual 2018 Convention, will take place from Friday, August 31st to Sunday, September 2nd at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas. The success of the convention is due to the commitment of our volunteers. Volunteering is a great opportunity to be involved in a range of events throughout the weekend while meeting new people and making new friends. Volunteers will also be required to attend online training before the convention. Thank you for taking the time out to spend in the way of Allah. Jazak Allahu Khairun!

If you are selected as a Full Time Volunteer, several expenses such as food, hotel accommodations, and convention registration will be covered.  In addition, incentives such as earning 30 service hours and attending private sessions are all included with being a full-time volunteer. In addition to these incentives, you will be required to follow all MYNA event rules and regulations, adhere to MYNA's dress code, check in with team lead 15 minutes before every shift and remain on shift until its completion, sign out after the shift is completed as well as follow all rules of the hotel and convention center. You are also not allowed to leave the convention center without the permission of an advisor or YPSD staff member. Failure to meet these requirements may lead to disciplinary action.

If you are selected as a Helping Hand Volunteer, you will be assigned shifts at different locations throughout the convention. Like Full time Volunteers, it is mandatory that you go to your shifts. This position aims to introduce you to MYNA leadership from around the United States and Canada and is mainly for your own benefit. You will get to help Full Time volunteers in their own assigned duties such as Bazaar, PR, or Program. We will show you all the different aspects that MYNA leadership deals with, in hopes that inshAllah you will be a Full Time Volunteer or involved in MYNA Leadership in the future. MYNA does NOT pay for food, rooms, nor registration for Helping Hand Volunteers but you will earn service hours for the number of hours you get scheduled for. you will be required to check in with the Full Time volunteer that is onsite 15 minutes before every shift and remain on shift until its completion, sign out after the shift is completed to allocate the appropriate number of service hours for your work.  As a representative of MYNA you are expected to follow all MYNA event rules and regulations, adhere to MYNA's dress code, as well as follow the rules of the hotel and convention center. Failure to meet these requirements might lead to disciplinary action.
