Why this petition matters

Started by A Better San Francisco

No one wins if the homeless remain homeless. Not taxpayers, not the homeless, and certainly not society as a whole. Our current system is broken, but there is a potential solution in sight. For less than what we spend on managing homelessness, we can be housing the homeless.

40% of US homelessness takes place in the 30 most expensive cities in America: places where real estate is unaffordable, land is unavailable, and neighbors fight tooth and nail to keep low-income housing out of their neighborhood. But if these cities start housing their homeless outside city limits, then a solution is within reach.

Join us and support this first step in finding a long term solution  to homelessness by calling on the mayors of these 30 cities to explore a regional homeless housing solution. If we reach 30,000 supporters, then A Better San Francisco will personally contact each mayor to urge their participation in a summit to develop long term housing solutions for their city.

Hold your local government accountable and arm local services with the tools they need to truly combat homelessness for good!

Sign this petition to let your elected officials know you want a permanent solution to homelessness. Learn more about the Regional Housing First solution here.
