Research Results Workshop - Orange

The Australian National University Sustainable Farms Research team and Central Tablelands Local Land Services are holding a Research Results Workshop in Orange on the 27th of May 2021.

Sustainable Farms researchers from ecology, mental health and economics are coming to Orange to share research results to help support practice change on farms in the temperate eucalypt woodlands of south-eastern Australia. A particular focus is looking at how we can work with partners to accelerate practice change drawing on the tools we have available – a strong evidence base combined with outreach and extension.

The workshop will cover:

• Research on the impacts of enhancing farm dams for water quality and biodiversity
• Ecology findings – the latest results of long-term ecological monitoring in the woodlands (this research was supported by an Australian Research Council Linkage Grant)
• Mental health research into connections between biodiversity and wellbeing
• Box gum grassy woodlands environmental accounts
• Optimising investments in natural assets on farms
• Discussion of the ways we can work with local partners to accelerate practice change by drawing on a strong evidence base, outreach and extension.

Rod Price from DPI will also be presenting on the Central Tablelands Aquatic Habitat Mapping.
