Watch Refused’s Electric ‘Servants of Death’ Video
Swedish art-punk lefties Refused are coming off an unlikely and successful reunion, complete with dates around the world and an acclaimed studio LP, Freedom. Now the band has released a travelogue in the form of a music video for their “Servants of Death.”
“Our tour manager, Robin Laananen, is a great photographer and she’s gotten a lot of intense footage from the tours we’ve been doing,” drummer David Sandström tells Rolling Stone. “We tend to not let photographers too close but she’s the exception, so when we saw the footage we decided to give our fans a chance to peek into our world through this video. ‘Servants of Death’ is a pressure cooker of a song and the images really fit the madness of it.”
The video comes on the same day the band announces the “Digital Deluxe” version of Freedom. This edition features “Stolen Voices,” originally released as the bonus track of the Japanese version, and a live version of “Thought Is Blood.”
The band will be touring with Deftones throughout North America next month and will be hitting Riot Fest in both Denver and Chicago. Until then, you can purchase the deluxe version of Freedom at Refused’s official site.
