"Breaking Barriers": Registration Form
#BreakingBarriers is one such event which will be focusing on women in sports. We want to break the barrier which prevents girls from taking an active part in sports because it's deemed a masculine activity.

The Speaker:

Our first speaker will be Komal Feroze:

She is a highly educated female who has a double masters in Business Studies and Physical education. However, her sports career is even more impressive. She is a national player for Pakistan's favourite sport, Cricket. Komal was selected to represent Pakistan in Japan and Hong Kong. She represented Kinnaird College in cricket for 7 years. She was awarded best player at the U19 region in 2009 and is also the first U19 woman to score a century in Pakistan. This talented woman has been amongst various probable camps selected to represent Pakistan in Cricket; the world cup held in Australia, t20 tournament held in England. Komal was the captain of her college cricket team and the vice captain for the Lahore region's team. She has played two Benazir cups in 2012 and 2013 and became the player of the tournament in one of the matches. She has many honours and awards to call to her name; She is a part of the Atlantis cricket club in America, recently played a tournament against Peshawar and became the player of the match, she is the first woman in Pakistan to score 120 not out against Quetta during the U19 tournament and she has been awarded the player of the match for various matches. She was the captain of the team for the Lahore board in 2007.

However, other than cricket, Komal is very multi-talented and is also skilled in other sports such as Throw ball, Netball, Hockey, Table Tennis, Cricket and Athletics. She has also played various matches for these sports as well.

Other than sports, Komal is also a motivator of individuals and coaches students in sports. She will be talking about her struggles and how she achieved all this success at WoWoman's event.

Our second speaker would be Hadeel Niazi:

She plays various sports such as Cricket, Hockey, Basketball, Netball, Rugby and Softball for which she took part in tournaments where she represented her college and also won several medals. She has represented Pakistan four times in national Netball tournaments and has also won a bronze medal. She is part of Pakistan's rugby team and has been selected for the Pakistan Netball camp on numerous occasions. She won gold and bronze medals in Netball and was also awarded best player in the Punjab Olympics. On a more recent occasion, Hadeel was a part of the Punjab Netball team in the nationals held in March 2017 where she won a silver medal.

Hadeel will also be speaking to our delegates on the 6th of May regarding her sports journey and how its possible for every girl to achieve her dream.

Our third speaker is Shayyan Nida Haque:

She has represented her schools as the Captain of the Football team in LGS Defence and the Learning Alliance. Shayyan is also the Football captain at the prestigious Model Town Club. At this early age she has represented Pakistan in Football at various countries such as Bahrain and Bhutan. She has many awards to prove her success in Football; Shayyan won a Football match for Pakistan against Bhutan, She earned second place at the Quaid-e-Azam Inter-Provincial Games, She has held a position at LUMS SportsFest and Model Town Football Academy for three years in a row. Other than Football, Shayyan is also a member of various other sports teams in her schools such as Basketball, Swimming, Badminton and Athletics. She is proof than even though you are pursuing your studies, your hobbies or talents don't need to be put on hold.

Our fourth and only Male speaker is Waseem Tai:

He is the pioneer of Yoga, Taibout, Wing Chun and Ninja in Pakistan. Known as Grandmaster W. A. Tai, he has 35 years of teaching experience and has promoted the non-commercial use of Karate in Pakistan, especially for young children who work in the morning and rather than engaging in bad habits during the evening, they can engage in this healthy game. He introduced Yoga therapy for the first time in Pakistan, for back aches, knee aches and diabetes and many more. He got the prestigious Presidential Award, "The Pride of Performance", he holds a degree of Black Belt 10th Dan from WCKF, SATKF and he was awarded the title of Grand Master from WCKF, WGMO, WOMA. He has been trained in China, Thailand, Malaysia, Japan, India and USA. He will be speaking to you about his experience and about how girls can learn these forms of combat as well.

#WoWoman is a non-profit international woman empowerment platform. It is a fast growing network of women who dare to dream big and make it happen. Initially opened in Azerbaijan in 2014, it spreads across Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine, Belarus, Romania and Pakistan. It is a platform which creates space and tools for women to be able to achieve the coolest, craziest and the most impossible dreams they have.
