Salary Survey

About

The AALL Biennial Salary Survey & Organizational Characteristics (also known as the Salary Survey) provides up-to-date information on salaries, benefits, job titles, and responsibilities for more than 20 law library positions. The report also provides quantitative information based on the following data points: location, number of people supervised, education, and years of experience. Additional details specific to library type are also included. Digital access to the Salary Survey is provided as a free benefit to all current members.

AALL has conducted and published the Salary Survey since 1993 to provide comprehensive compensation information for legal information professionals working in academic, firm/corporate, and government law libraries. It is the only in-depth resource of its kind for the profession, and is designed to support budgeting endeavors and salary negotiations. The Economic Status of Law Librarians Committee reviews and revises the questions, job titles, and position descriptions for each edition to ensure the publication is up-to-date.

Please contact Heather Haemker, AALL director of marketing & communications, with any questions.
