JEB STEAM Club Registration Form
JEB in collaboration with Sr. Aalia Bhalloo and Br. Mohsin Jessa, is launching a Coding/STEAM club for JCC members. We invite you to fill out this survey and express interest in this club.

About the instructors:
Sr. Aalia Bhalloo holds a Hons BA in Sociology focusing on Child Socialization and currently pursuing her Bachelor of Education. She has attended courses on teaching coding and STEAM to primary school children. She is currently working for YDRSB as a school assistant providing support in their technology program.

Br. Mohsin Jessa holds a B.Sc in Aeronautical Engineering from Queen's University of Belfast. He has over 35 years in IT experience. In the past 5 years, he has attended courses on Data Science, Internet of Things, Big Data, NoSQL databases and computer programming. His passion is in automation and physical computing.

Why you should consider enrolling your children:
In the next decade technological advancements is going to redefine the workplace. It's not going to be a 9-5 workplace that we adults grew up in. Our kids will be required to have high level of soft skills (like problem definition, problem resolution, collaboration, and critical thinking), as well as the entrepreneurial drive to solve real world problems.

Learning about STEAM is not about preparing kids to become engineers only, but to develop the skills that will be required to enter the workforce in any field. Computer literacy will be a fundamental requirement for jobs in virtually any field. For our Junior coders/makers the focus will be understanding and developing soft skills through various forms of unplugged activities.

We hope to have the club started by June, with the first batch of kids participating in an 8 week course (one meet per week). Please respond early to help us plan the required number of sessions per week and to acquire all the necessary course materials and teaching aids.

We anticipate the fees to be around $160 CAD per child for an 1 x 8 week session - not including the (optional - but strongly recommended) purchase of the lab kit - for advanced level students.

We will have very limited seats for the club and registration will be strictly on first come first served basis.

Please fill only one response per child.
